How could someone r8 h4 20/100?

I just find it funny in the comments how this “Nicholas” username is trying to defend the reviews and he is getting lit-up and obviously beat.

Reviews are not meant to be biased or opinionated, just explain the game and its dynamics. The reviewer honestly gave a bad review, even if what he said actually turns out to be right (lol). Metacritic really should be ashamed of using this dude’s opinion as a part of their reviews. You could tell at line one that this review was biased and obviously coming from a PS3 fanboy. It makes you start to wonder how many other reviews like this are being weighed into Metracritic’s total score which is an 8.8.

People are allowed to not like things. Deal with it.

Review shouldn’t be about opinion but fact. Anyone who doesn’t like X and thus rate it lower isn’t doing a review but voicing/writing a mere opinion. If we want opinion we would go to CoD forum and read what they think of Halo.

> The combat overall leaves much to be desired. Halo is so rigid in its linearity that the player is forced to learn gunfight sequences by rote - remember where the snipers are, make sure you find the Watcher quickly to put him down, memorise where extra ammo is.

Game Arena doesn’t like game that take skill or a minimum of brain to play it.

I question Quarter to Three even played the game.

Apparently he rates everything badly, also no one in the comments agrees with him, he even had to do an update to address all the negativity. There’s even a FAQ asking why he’s a tool, I wouldn’t take it seriously, never even heard of this site.

Come on, that review is ridiculous… He’s just bashing on Halo. Reviewers are not supposed to make a review based solely on their own opinion on the franchise. His arguments are flawed and don’t make any sense at all.

Agreed. Reviews are meant to be completely unbiased, and it’s pretty obvious this review has opinions splattered out all over it.

Main question should be: why do we even grant these completely unknown and irrelevant websites this much attention?

Really?

Because they just throw out something they know will cause controversy, someone in the community picks up on it and before you know it they have hundreds of people now coming there making them more important than they really are.
If we all didn’t go there to bash (the obviously VERY bad) reviewer, Metacritic wouldn’t even have a reason to include them in their list.

Look, on Metacritic H4 has TONS of great reviews. Most of which are 90+. Why not just pay attention to those websites and magazines that actually matter? IGN, EGM, Xbox Mags, 1Up, Destructoid and Joystiq are the kinds of sites that matter. Still, in the end we need to rely on our own judgment of course. But those are sites with quality reviewers (mostly) who know what they’re doing.
Everything else is just…irrelevant. Don’t pay attention to them. Let them be hateful fanboys all they want. Let them try and kick up dust. But don’t reward them with any attention, because I get a sneaking feeling these dudes are just trying to get a kick of upsetting a fanbase.

As one digs into his “credentials”, one quickly finds a person who wants the attention you’re giving them.
Don’t worry about it, of the 3 low scores of Halo4 on MC, they are written by authours who don’t like Halo. Take it as you will, Halo4 gets praised for its presentation but than is quickly brought down by opinions on Halo and not observations of the game itself.

Do you love Halo4?

From what I see, that reviewer also hated Deus Ex, so what he says is obviously foolish.

Damn straight son.

He’s doing it for attention. While I definitely don’t believe Halo 4 will be 10/10 material, It’s definitely above average from what I’ve seen at MLG.

People are allowed to not like things. Reviews are opinions.

Nobody normal can be that dumb. Terrible review. He probably just wants attention.

Why is it that troll or mock reviews are indexed for MetaCritic?

Must’ve been one of those competitive folk who come here to start arguments.

I don’t know, I haven’t read this new review, but it took Halo 4 down aother notch /:

It doesn’t matter, because I know I’ll love the game. Though I can’t help to think that a couple of these scores are so damn unrealistic. 20/100 is a score for a game that is unplayable.

A lot of ppl are hating coz they think H4 would suck w/o Bungie, and they choose to not change their opinion even tho deep down under thy sure was wrong about the game and cannot except it.
