is there a reasoning? I don’t follow the lore . did 343i forget about them? I used to love the spiker weapons in halo 3.
i believe they were removed from the covenant, plus pretty sure elites don’t get along with brutes. i do wish they could make a return though.

Hold on, really? That would be AWESOME.
Also, I want to see drones and engineers make a return aswell. And the Flood. Imagine flood forms of new enemies such as forerunners? That would be amazing.
There was a Brute in prologue of Halo 4
Brutes are warring among themselves. Since Elites and Brutes are enemies, Jul 'Mdama wouldn’t have taken any in his forces. Thus they don’t really have an way to impact the plot of Halo 5. Visiting their world is unnecessary.
Brutes and Flood are way more fun to fight than Prometheans. This has been my biggest problem with H4 and 5. In order I would say the most fun things to fight are:
- Brutes
- Elites (and all the other covenant types)
- Flood
- anything I’m forgetting? #4 seems to high to rank Prometheans, so…
- Prometheans
I’m not sure why Warzone can’t have them. Create a new map and throw Red vs Blue in a Brute vs Elite war. So you’d have the possibility of two big bosses. I’m not sure how I’d work out the mechanics of it, but something needs to save Warzone LOL.
I don’t care about brutes, but flood needs to return for real. The flood levels are what made the Halo: CE campaign.
Since the forerunner are mechanized, would they be susceptible to the flood? With their mobility as well I imagine they’d be resilient even if they could be infected.
Imagine the rock paper scissors matchups that this could bring to the next campaign. (Prometheans > Flood > Covenant > Prometheans <<<< Master Chief)

The Flood would be a good comback but it may be that Bungie didn’t allow 343 studios to have the flood in a Halo game after Halo 3. The flood could be licensed property. Also while the flood is a great enemy it was supposed to be destroyed in Halo CE when the halo ring exploded but then Bungie brought them back into Halo 2 and 3. Brutes I don’t give a flip about. They were just so annoying in 3 and 2. Their weapons I wished stayed in the game. The brute shot slaughters like crazy.
