How come the force colours are solid?

So, disregarding the fact that the colours themselves are pretty bad, how come the Spartans are fully red or blue?

I’m sure previous Halo games made it so that regardless of what team you were on, your secondary colour would still be your own custom one, where as in Halo 4, the spartan is completely Red or Blue.

Anyone know why this is different in Halo 4?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think it’s been like that for all the Halo’s.

Halo 2 was the only game in which your primary color was displayed as your secondary color in team gametypes. All others have been solid.
