I’ve been wanting a true black armor color for over a decade. Would be nice to get one in Infinite.

umm we had black armor in Halo 5
There’s a coating that sometimes is in the store that is pitch black with a tiny bit of red. Otherwise iirc there’s a black coating you get from Campaign too. Both are Mk VII though.
I’ve literally never seen that.
Was in college with a whopping 1mbps internet speed when Halo 5 came out so never got a chance to play much.

I think these 3 coatings are as close as you’ll get to plain black. Ignore the preview image, they’re darker in game. It’s like how Halo 5 colors were brighter in the preview customization and lavender looked pure white. Something about the room lighting.

I haven’t seen any even close to black outside of the cloud 9 armor.
Shadow Sorel & Redacted Records are 2 Coatings that have a Decent Black Shader but Shadow Sorel is a tad bit darker
Honestly a decent question, there’s no reason not to include black with the outline system.
Right now the only thing close is the current black armor in the store

uhhhhh what does this got to do with halo infinite?
It has to do with why a all back armor coating isn’t available.
Let’s see. Midnight Frost, Shadow Sorel, Cloud9, redacted records, and Neon Superfly are all somewhat close to black or at least a decently dark grey colour although it’s true that we lack a true plain black coating at this time. But with the outline system it is actually kinda strange that we don’t have a black coating. I don’t think this is FOMO though, considering how many variants of the colour red or blue we have been given.
How does weekly FOMO have anything to do with the current lack of a black coating? We don’t have a rainbow coating either but that’s not FOMO. That’s correlation not causation.
I’m talking like dark black armor coating. Not just close to black.

It did. I’m also pretty sure that almost every title in MCC had black as an option but don’t quote me on that.
