How come Flood mode has been ignored?

Infection by tradition has been one of the most beloved games in MM and in custom games but I feel that it has not been getting much (if any) attention in both areas.

Flood MM is terribly broken, the thruster pack shoots the flood very fast at the human and they often shoot the Flood only ro be killed from the grave by a slash or side swiped. There is no reason that it should be in Flood mode, it makes the zombies extremely overpowered and even with shotguns the humans don’t stand any kind of chance. It isn’t a fun survival game, it is a slaughter for the Flood.

The pistol also does little damage even with head shots and I often notice that there are glitches when shooting the flood if they thruster close to you as if none of the shots register (like the flood have no hitpoints at all).

The maps for Flood are not made for infection, they have no strategic vantage points nor do they fit the current playstyle of flood.

Custom games on Flood or equally bad as we are given few options to change the experience.

Here is what you need to fix:

  • Don’t force us to have that bright yellow color.

  • Take out the thruster pack, it is a terrible AA for the Flood. Just give the Flood enhanced sprint.

  • IF you are going to keep the Flood immune to pistols, allow us to pick up ammo from fallen spartans.

  • Add Ordinance, allow humans who kill zombies be able to call down more weapons.

  • Use maps that were actually made to be played with infection, no more default maps.

Infection as it stands now is made to be played in 1 way that 343i thought infection should play, we need the options and changes to make infection the way each of us wants to play.

Add ordinance - yeah, thats balanced. If were going to have changes made, lets keep it balanced for both the flood and survivors.

Was just about to make a mushy-gushy post about Infection in the Customs thread, but I decided against it.

Flood was ignored because “lol guys we gave you a playermodel what else do you want go play slayer”

> Add ordinance - yeah, thats balanced. If were going to have changes made, lets keep it balanced for both the flood and survivors.

Humans don’t stand any kind of chance against Flood, I have been playing Flood a lot for the past several days and it is laughable how easily I can kill 4 or more people standing next to each other as an infection form with thruster pack. I also like how long my sweeping lunge is so even if someone shoots a flood or me, they can’t hope to kill the infection form. At least with more firepower maybe it would help because it just isn’t fun for humans or Flood.

People seeing through walls, invis humans and flying zombies dosn’t work

If they were to add ordnance to flood it should only drop shotgun and pistol ammo. I think that the thruster pack is fine, I’d rather have that than an unlimited sprint. It’s effectiveness is based on how you use it.

WRONG.

These would all be amazing things if they had given us the customization options we were supposed to get.

I think it would be good for NO ONE to have armor abilities in general. Also I don’t understand if the flood are smart enough to use AAs, how come they can’t pick up weapons. MM is “canon” after all.

But anyway, it is really unbalanced and needs work so it is fun for everyone. Humans get owned so fast and I have rounds end in less than 30 seconds.

exactly, all you have to do is click a button and melee at the same time and you 99% of the time get the kill because the shots don’t register when the human fires on a fast moving object.

Thruster pack is terrible and should be gone, all AAs should be gone from Flood (except sprint).

The feedback thread for Flood is in the link below, so posting there will be mutch better.

Did not even see that (haven’t used Waypoint in a while), I will check it out but what I said is still relevant here.

Remember when people on the halo forums complaned about infection not being basllenced? yeah neither did I.

Infection in Halo Reach was the closest balance humans and zombhies had together. There was no infinite ammo, all the hiding spots were closed off, and the zombies had a very fast sprint.

Halo 4 infection is too zombie sided and it just isn’t that fun because it is so frustrating to play with all the cheap thruster pack kills and ridiculous glitches that come from that.

Have you played Reach’s Infection lately? It’s still the same with humans hiding up together and then getting into some spot that’s nearly impossible for the infected to get. The zombies are incredibly weak and players just throw their bodies until they either win or the round is up.

Even though I miss having my own custom colors as a human like in previous Infection gametypes, Flood is as balanced as it gets. The Flood have a real chance this time around. We have appropriate AAs, limited ammo as humans (just as before), and The Flood’s health is designed much better than before.

Again, my only nitpick is that I miss custom colors, but gameplay wise, Flood is as good as it’s going to get for both sides. I think 343 did a great job with this.

Remember in H3 where the humans could move boxes with their weapons and close off a room to have a fighting chance, now that made it fun, this version sucks, no fun at all.

I like the fact that zombies can’t be insta-killed by pistol anymore (that made the zombie experience terrible in REACH), but I could see ordnance being an interesting addition (rounds do end a little faster now). I’d also like a variant where zombies have no AAs (but have sprint), less shield strength, and the humans have much less ammo, but are able to pick some up, so the only way to survive is to let your allies die, and people hiding in their camping nests will have to eventually come down.

On the contrary, I see the most complaints about customs being directed towards the lack of Flood options.
And to whoever still supports the lack of custom game options, you don’t lose options in the next game. You just don’t.

I do think it would be nice if people could keep their custom colors, I don’t think we all need to be painted green to figure out who’s a friendly. Cause if you can’t tell the difference between a fellow Spartan and a flood combat form then wow… And ordnance drops would be good if it offered ammo only, I agree on the maps as well. There are great community created flood maps and flood gametypes that should be integrated into the flood playlist.

Armour abilities ruined halo, thus ruined infection. Halo 3 infection was really fun and since it wasnt always availiable in MM. Halo reach infection sucked, until they added alpha zombies,
