How can you judge a game you haven't played?

Have you got a time machine? Have you played the game already? If not them how can you berate people for their own opinion?

I’m talking of course to the people who have high hopes for Halo 4.

That’s right, it cuts both ways. When you’re defending the game, remember that you yourself haven’t played the game either. We’re all just speculating based on information and experiences we’ve had with previous Halo’s and the gamed which Halo 4 is becoming more like.

So next time someone expresses a concern or worry about the game. Do everyone a favor and holster the '‘have you played the game yet’ argument.

To the “have you played it yet” argument: How many people read Twilight before bashing it?

Must I consume raw sewage before I can comment on the after-taste?

Dont worry i think it will be Brilliant!, the more i read and see only confirms it for me.

1st: Don’t get me wrong, I like Halo 4 so far, but:

The statement “Don’t judge until you played” is the dumbest statement on the planet. If it would be used correctly, then I’m not supposed to judge about anything. How should I know, if I should buy the game, watch the film etc. ?

I don’t know who started with this statement, but in my opinion it should be more like: “Judge it, when you see a full game of multiplayer” or anything similiar to this.

This image describes those people well.

“Don’t judge until you played” is a perfectly legit statement.

How should you know which games to play or films to watch? How about watching/reading a variety of reviews that will aid you into making a decision for yourself before you go out and spend your hard earned money.

I actually read them…ALL of them…and liked them for a while. Not so much anymore though.

I judge many things before I “play” them.

  • I think that a Lamborghini is an awesome vehicle even though I have never driven one.
  • I think that the movie Battleship looks stupid and will be stupid because it is based on a board game. It doesn’t even matter that it has one of my favourite actors, I will still not see it.
  • I think that Black Ops 2 will be a stupid game even though I have never played it.
  • I think that the Twilight books are complete and utter trash even though I have never read them.
  • I think that getting an iPhone would be pointless as there are much better options out there.
  • I will never ever buy a Mac, even though I have never used one.
  • I think that I would look creepy in Yoga pants, even though I have never tried it.
  • I am never going to try weed because I think that it is bad for you.
  • I am never ever ever going to smoke because I think that it is disgusting and bad for your health.

I don’t need to try something out before I can make judgements on them. “Don’t judge until you played” is a flawed argument every single time it is used. If you want to really get down to it, you are basically saying that you can’t say heroine is bad until you have tried it. Slightly on the extreme side, but that is what your argument boils down to.

I agree with you completely.

how can you support a game you havent played and all the facts are being laid out right in front of you. have you ever heard of a hypothesis??? Well if you havent here’s the definition from dictionary.com

a proposition, or set of propositions, set forth as an explanation for the occurrence of some specified group of phenomena, either asserted merely as a provisional conjecture to guide investigation (working hypothesis) or accepted as highly probable in the light of established facts.

SO we are using the facts we have now to create a hypothesis

Yeah. The whole “don’t judge until you’ve played” argument is lame. You may not be able to use reason and intellect along with personal experience to formulate an opinion, but fortunately, I can. Doesn’t mean I’ll be right, but I’ve been wrong plenty times before and the world hasn’t ended.

I’m certain I’m going to love Halo 4, by the way. Reach proved that it’s pretty hard to make a Halo game I dislike.

I cannot believe I’m posting in this thread… I do it every single time… I friggen do it all the time… to make people like you, people who act like the public figureheads that just sit on the side of the fence, feel special… There are tons of threads like this, TONS!!! how about you let the guy voice HIS opinion! no one forced you to come into here and force your hate towards the other viewpoints on Halo 4 smh you should be ashame.d

I’m going to jump off of a cliff and see if it hurts. Because I obviously can’t make a logical conclusion based on previous observations since that would be the “bad” thing to do.

Custom Loadout systems have tended to destroy balance.

A large amount of weapons in a game tend to make it difficult to balance, to give each weapon an identity, and to ensure that every weapon is used for some reason.

Non-uniform starting weapons tend to unbalance teams on the weapons’ part rather than the player’s part.

Ergo, 343i is inserting elements that have been known to be bad for competitive play in Halo 4. The fact that they don’t support these additions with arguments and simply say “Just trust us” is not very redeeming.

You should be ashamed that you forgot that he is voicing his opinion.
On fools.

I think that it is the most stupid argument. We aren’t “Judging” it. We are voicing our opinions, our hopes, our dislikes, everything we already know about it.

In fact, not everyone judges. I think that there are no elites. I have a famous machinima director as an acquaintance who states that there are elites in the game. I can’t judge. I don’t know.

But I’m not judging. I’m not saying “This is bad. This is bad.” to things I don’t know.

Oh, but someone knows the DMR has bloom, and he says “This is bad. This is bad.”

He can say that, because he has seen it before. It does not apply to your argument…

Your argument which is invalid. If it were, then I would be high, drunk, and dead.

“How can you judge before feeling it?”
Religious people don’t KNOW for certain that their religion is real. They believe it.

LOL This is so true.

because the halo community

If you Bach Twilight WITH OUT reading it then your just a -Yoink- bag. Same goes for any book People make fun of twilight for aspect created by one director and a couple actors/actresses.

Movies you cant judge is there good or not unless you fully see them and hear actually reviews(JUST LIKE GAMES)

and all the Simi reviews ARE ALL POSITIVE so SHUT your mouth and stop being stupid
