I think its painfully obvious what is going on with CSR

bear with me here…

What happens to halo 3? It loses popularity to Call of Duty. This leads to Reach basically trying to become Call of Duty. With this is the loss of CSR and the gain of progress ranks (PR). Most players don’t mind PR, as they like seeing themselves level up and gain new shiny armor, but the reality is, this is a copy of the COD ranking system.

So what does COD do next? They come out with a web app which allows you access to stats etc. People eat it up, and they even PAY for it. Sure it had a nice map pass come with it, but what does that mean for us Halo players? Well take a look at the short paragraph above.

Halo Waypoint now exists. But its not quite what Call of Duty ELITE is. How do we fix that?

343i employee #1: “guys, it looks like the community really wants to see their CSR in-game”

343i employee #2: “yeah but we tried to switch to that new system that really sucks, we should continue to do that, I mean look at how much people love call of duty”

343i employee #1: “Ive got it! Lets take that useless website we made, that nobody uses, and try to compete with Call of Duty ELITE. We can add the CSR to it, and all the people that are asking for it will have to log in to see it. Its genius! We can gain web traffic AND make it look like people really love waypoint!”

343i employee#2: “You’re a genius, just make sure you don’t tell them, we don’t need this getting out”

343i bs angel: “I can continue to answer questions on the forum with no real information and act like I am important! Maybe even throw some <3s in there to remind them I’m a girl!”

transcript for CSR meeting in 343i headquarters.

long story short, this is all to try to get people to use Waypoint.

You were doing ok up untill you started with the 343i random idiot employee crap. There was no need for that. And yet again i am forced to point out that COD did not come up with idea, Bungie did that long before Call of Duty ELITE came to exist. Halo Waypoint was created so that all things Halo, could be found on one website.

Waypoint was out first. Elite is just an immatation of waypoint.

> This leads to Reach basically trying to become Call of Duty.

Lol, yeah. I’m sorry bro, but I just can not can’t just take you seriously after this.

People are using waypoint. Except not all the people on waypoint agree with all the changes 343i made. They dont want to have to deal with unhappy customers, so they ignore waypoint and use other sites like halo council instead. Thats why 343i hardly responds to anything on here. Sure, theyre listening, but communication only works both ways.

Also op, despite your frustrations, this thread will most likely be locked for attacking 343i. Just a prediction.

Stats and everything are cool, and it was always great that you could look them up online.

But RANK is supposed to be what’s visible in-game.

Now it’s all backwards, and no one gives a -Yoink- about looking up your commendations ingame.

-Yoink–backwards

Call of Duty 4 had prestige ranks LONG before Halo… and Waypoint existed first yes. but Waypoint can not compete with the traffic of ELITE, so they are trying to make it MORE like ELITE, by FORCING players to use it.

You disagree? We gained AA, and PR. How is that not a mirror image of what COD was doing? They wanted to compete with the game that was kicking their -Yoink-. If you played H2 or H3 you would understand how similar the experience of playing Reach was compared to playing COD.

Its so obvious it hurts to think about it…

I never said anything about Prestige ranks not sure where you got that. I said Bungie tracked stats way before COD did, Waypoint was created to have Halo under one site and stats were added to it.

Well all you did was point out that a feature both games have. That doesnt make Reach a COD clone, that makes Reach common with many other FPS. PR can be found in BF3, should BF3 be considered a Reach clone?

CoD elite is a poor copy of Waypoint. I rarely go to CoD elite because it is so dam hard to find anything, and most of it is garbage. I am not a CoD hater (prefer Halo 10 fold though), I just think it is inferior.

Where do you guys come up with this stuff? Seriously, lol.

First AA’s. nothing like COD.

Secondly prestige ranking again nothing like reach nor halo 4. In COD you prestige then you start all over again back at 1 and have to unlock every thing over gain. Nothing in reach or halo 4 is like this.

I’ve played every halo and none of them are similar game play wise to COD. Get over it.

List me one thing that COD created first that halo copied… Dont worry I’ll wait.

While you are thinking about it, Ill help you out.

Classes - Nope not a COD first

Killstreaks - Nope not a COD first

Weapon Skins - Guess what, not a COD first

Medal system - you are right COD did copy halo… oh wait you were talking about halo copying COD not COD copying something halo did…

Waypoint/elite - yup again Halo copyin… I mean COD copying halo.

Sprint - ooo busted, again COD not the first FPS game with sprint.

Prone stance - nope not in halo

Knife kill - well, the spartans do sometimes pull out a knife during an assassination move, maybe they felt the need to copy that out of COD oh wait, no assassination moves in cod

Perks - ooo you finally got me, they straight up copied it… oh wait, other games had almost the exact same perks before COD ever used them! Damn, wrong again.

Please link me to one youtube video of you driving a warthog in COD, then we can talk about the games being similar.

>

  1. Reach had nothing to do with CoD. It’s a big stretch to call the progress ranking system a CoD copy when almost every game has it, including non-shooters.
  2. Halo Waypoint came before CoD ELITE.

You have no idea what you’re talking about. CoD had NOTHING like armor abilities so I don’t even see the connection you’re trying to make. AA’s were created to replace Equipment in a less-random, more balanced way. Their creation had nothing to do with anything else. If you mean the “loadout” system (if you can even call it that), then that’s still a stretch because many games before CoD had popularized a loadout system.

bungie.net nuf’ said.

I don’t think The OP has ever played a game of Halo or a game of COD. OP is either a poor excuse for a troll or just speaking out is back end.

Agreed. With the Waypoint part. In fact, when Elite was first announced a lot of people accused CoD of ripping off Waypoint.

I wonder how much they pay her
