How can I improve in this game?

Not trying to sound like an -Yoink-, because I dont know if its me or the game.
I literally dont feel the same anymore here, I have a negative K/D now. I get killed and spawn killed in every damn corner, I just simple cant adjust to this game nor how fast paced it is, its -yoinking!- ridiculous. Im not bashing the game, Im bashing myself, maybe because I havent played halo since july and came back to it with this game, is it only me, is it that I suck now that I grew up, or am I always coming against -yoinking!- pro players in every corner? Back in Halo 3, 4, and Reach I was really good and fluent, now I suck -Yoink- in this game, what gives? Is it the changes, is it the adjustment, or the game? Am I the only one suffering here!?? Anyone please help? Im really trying not to hate this game, I literally broke a co troller from how bad Ive sucked at it, it just doesnt feel like halo to me anymore.

Mess around in Warzone to get a feel for the shooting in the game. That is easily the biggest learning curve for people right now. Arena playlists are just tough to play in without a full group.

Don’t play Ranked on your own. Find people of your skill and play in a team of 4. Callouts are more important than ever, since the radar is kinda useless.

if the lowered aim assist and large dead zones are tough to get used to, there is always the keyboard and mouse interface.

Don’t worry. I was terrible during the beta, because the gameplay definitely does put a modern twist on Halo’s core gameplay. It just takes some time to adjust to the strategy of the game. While the new mobility improvements are good for taking advantage of the map, its best to keep your weapon ready to focus on the enemy. Focus on headshots while learning how to strafe from left to right to make yourself harder to hit. Play the maps over and over and you’ll understand how to control it and where the best weapons are. But most importantly remember Halo is a team effort unlike twitch shooters like COD. Stick with teammates and never engage larger quantities of enemies unless you’re prepared.

Just practice more. Every halo game they change small details. You just adapt to it over time.

Korrupt- Yes my aiming has improved, literally everyone would wipe the floor with me at launch day, campaign doesnt help much since it relies solely on noob weapons. I really wish they had a sort of firefight mode in this game.
Harlecin- that is a really good point, I always go on my own, that probably is the cause of my losses as well, very good point, where can I go if not Arena??
AlpModenaSedan- How does that work???

NuggetsX- Yes halo 5 is a serious update to the general gameplay, I love it, but it saddens me that I suck at it so bad compared to other halo games, I like COD, but is not my everyday game like halo, I love halo and I dont want to turn my back on this game just for liking it but sucking at it :
The Deathknight- that is true, i sucked at halo reach, in the end as I adapted I became a -Yoink- in it, 50,000 kills and 30,000 deaths was my ratio in that game, and Im very negative in this one :’\

I was in your shoes playing it like halo 3 crouching being sneaky. Watching every corner and then boom behind me a spartan charge. Once I embraced the new movements maybe no embrace but actually used, I started doing better I’m not the best player but I can hold my own. Also I played a lot of swat and got very proficient with the pistol and that has had great Carry over to other arena game modes.
The pistol is a beast now. USE iT

It had been years since I played. Warzone for mid to long range practice and slayer to help with up close and personal. At least this is what has been helped me. One of my biggest mistakes I keep making is charging in like a person. I keep having to make myself slow down.

Had to lower my sensitivity. Not sure if 60 fps is throwing my aim off or just need a lot more practice.
