How can HW2 have space battles?

If the HW2 is set before reach and nobody has found SoF yet, how can we get space battles if there is just only one UNSC ship the SoF?Can it even handle itself well against a single covenant cruiser despite it being 2.5km long?

When it broadsided the destroyer it looked like the SoF was taking much more damage than the destroyer did.
Even such, wouldnt it get repetitive using the same ship over and over again?

Do you think HW2 will be set in a time line where its joined with more of the UNSC fleet?

They are most likely talking about multiplayer only like wanting prometheans, they would only be in multiplayer.

Also it could run into UNSC forces after 2558 (grim did say “yes” to the question will it be before, during, or after halo 5)

plus, so long as the fleet doesn’t make contact with the UNSC before 2558 your ok canon wise.

same with the promethians

From a purely multiplayer perspective, space combat wouldn’t need to follow the lore or pre-established story. When it comes to non-campaign elements, gameplay shouldn’t be held back by storyline restrictions.

It’s my understanding that the first game was before Reach (Because Harvest fell first?). So im assuming the new one is going to focus more on red team, and the state of the SoF after the events of HW1. That being said, I cant see it being any latter than H4.

Halo wars two will probably take place just after the end of halo 4 and extend to a few years after halo 5. It is unlikely it would be before reach swing as how the shop did not have a slip space drive and is hurtiling through space to previously unsc controlled space that has probably fallen to the covenant before the end of the war

Red team included way more spartans than the three on SoF (it was the biggest team) so we may not be involved with the Spirit of fire. Although it is likely before Reach, as there is not currently be enough Spartan II’s to put on Red team (Someone fact-check me, but there should only be blue team, grey team, the SoF spartans, and maybe 2-3 more?)
EDIT: the fact that brutes are involved suggests it is before the end of the covenant, as they are struggling through civil war without a way to regain their covenant level of technology.

Star Wars: Empire at War. That game is a perfect example of an RTS with space battles, land engagements, and a Galaxy sized RISK

All Spartan teams were designated per mission. In the trailer it shows The spartans from sof as red team. Also the brutes were not in a civil war post covenant. By halo 5 there were 7 known active Spartan 2’s that being blue team, grey team, and kilo 5

idk but i really would like them…

That’s a great idea I would love for Halo Wars 2 to have space battles.

Actually, there’s eight. There’s the four on Blue, the three of Gray, and Naomi of Kilo-five, plus HW Red team, but I excluded them from the count.

YES!!! This is one of my favorite games, but i only play space battles in it, because they are amazing and the best. LOL.

I WOULD LOVE FOR HALO WARS 2 TO HAVE SPACE BATTLES LIKE THIS!!! OMG!!!

PLEASE!

CAN I HAVE IT NOW!!?!?!!?

Lol.

star wars empire at war was a great RTS with space battles galaxy wide domination etc.

Maybe you build a base with ‘space pads’ (see what I did there?) on an asteroid or randomly floating in space and then build ships. Oh and the game will play out over a flat field with space as the background and look as normal as playing Halo Wars regularly.

While i wish it would have space battles, it is probably not going to have space battles. If you are asking why Space battles would be different from ground combat, first off, it tends to have a different flow and mechanics then ground combat(look at Empire at War), also different units and variation (and potential for different game play styles)
