How can cross core customization coexist with multiple cores?

I know, it’s like people only want to see what they want to see or something…

Nah fam you can’t insult the people who are pointing out the flaws and say you’re on the same boat all this is

Is you trying to play both sides

Most of the people who had problems with the customization has been reasonable and pointed out the flaws of the armor core system and coatings there’s no reason to insult them

And nearly everyone sees that the way the core system is rn is extremely limiting and wasted potential

The core forms the base of the armor and the cross-core stuff carries over when applicable so that there are more customization options available to everyone.

This was basically DOOM 2016’s method of handling this, and that method was incredible. Players were able to customize themselves in a far more expansive and free-form manner than the games around them, mixing and matching different styles of armor with an undersuit, as well as scratches, dirt, and free color customization.

My hope is that Cross-Core focuses on Coatings, Visors, Helmets, Shoulderpads, and some Equipment.

This is what I was thinking of how they could do it.

I highly doubt that’s going to happen because of the way the cores work. The cores literally are the base armor so that’s probably what they’re going to continue to be in the future. Which means what I described is probably best case scenario where we’re able to change the helmet, visor, shoulders, knee, hands and maybe wrist across all cores.

Unless factually stating that a nondescript portion of the community is frustrated/salty/angry/mad/perturbed/( any other synonym of ‘upset’) is somehow now an insult, I didn’t insult anyone.

Also I’m not in the same boat as those who want unfettered cross-core, never said I was, I’m willing to compromise to attain functional cross-core in a reasonable and complimentary fashion.

Um… You caught me? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I dunno about most, but there have definitely been some for sure. A reasonable approach is to discuss and compromise to reach a middle ground solution that appeases the majority of the population participating in the specific dialogue. This does not include obstinately calling for floodgates to be torn down to sip from the raging torrent of customizable content that has no business being cross core compatible.

But as I’ve explained above I’m not insulting anyone. I can link you to a post where I did for a comparison if you’d like to see how I go about doing it though.

Nearly everyone? Sounds inflated.

In what manner is it extremely limiting and potentially wasted?

343 makes a silly decision and it comes with a silly defence. All this verbose language about floodgates and torrent and a middle ground solution are ridiculous and try to make the resolution more complicated and impossible than it actually is. If a decision is mostly negative why find a middle ground if there’s a sufficient argument for why customisation should be (drum roll) fully customisable.

They only went with the Reach theme because of the community being vocal about wanting Reach style customisation. Not a half cooked answer about a flimsy system that serves to utilise their shop.

Here’s the more honest criticism. There isn’t enough customisation options in the game where full customisation isn’t an issue. There isn’t problems with their colours or emblems either, they simply removed it for their own sake, not the consumers. The common counter to this is “the game’s free, they need to make money somehow”, nonsense Fortnite sells skin packs in the shop and players are free to customise as they wish, their shop makes truckloads more than Infinites. Some parts work some don’t, it doesn’t take drastic time or effort to ensure there’s no clipping. If 343 want to get bombastic with fracture cores then keep those separate. The regular armours are not over the top and have no need to be separate, especially after the false-advertising that Reach customisation, not Reach armours, would return.

MK7 and MK5 would be similar if you put everything on one or another but the new one is supper different, i, even if you out everything you have on your MK7 on the new one it would look the same because of the core
