How can cross core customization coexist with multiple cores?

The obvious benefit of keeping cores whilst making everything canon cross-core is the added variety of the static body suit.

Example;
Someone wearing Aviator on Mk VII or Mk V or even the Lone Wolf core, even with all matching shoulders are still going to look very different.

Each canon core has a very unique base platform MJONLR. Keeping them whilst allowing everything we can change to be put on any core we want means just more variety in our Spartans. Keep cores as they are, make everything we can edit cross core. Simple.

The armor will become cross core customizable but the cores do have differences. Like the back on all of them looks different. I guess when you can cross core, choosikg a core will be like just choosing a base

The biggest issue with their original core system is that they locked stuff that isn’t core related behind the system, visor colors and armor colors being a BIG ones. Having different base armor that you can tweak into something you like is a good idea but locking stuff that could easily work with other cores was the problem.

Yeah especially with (most) stuff like the utility bags and pouches/etc. That should be the #1 priority to fix first imo

I suppose so, as long as the “base” undersuit appearances remain noticeably differentiated from one another. Don’t know how well that will work once we hit around the 10+ cores point though

I dont expect 2 new cores every season once they establish more items being cross compatible.

LOL at all the contortionists in this thread, twisting themselves into pretzels to avoid the obvious fact that the core system is a cashgrab to sell you [friggin’] blue multiple times🤑

Thats what i said, im OK with the core system, but stuff like visor colors, armor colors, gloves, etc shouldnt be locked behind cores.

What I don’t understand is how they will implement the body suit underneath the armor. There is no option to change that and each armor set has a different body suit.

There is also body type. The fractured armors have way more masculinity than the others, you can see it in the armors. So I doubt how they will ever impiment that without deleting or remodeling something.

Thats the whole point, the base armor of each core will remain as your canvas and you will be able to add helmets, cloves, visors, shoulders, knees, etc from other cores to it.

True, but there’s already 5 and I’d imagine a new fracture one each season + at least a couple more non fracture ones like the gen2 from H4+5 and Mk6/etc. Even if it slows down we’ll be around 10. Don’t know if that’s few enough for the differences to be noticeable

Yeah they said in a blog post or something that they’re gonna have to do each piece individually and case by case.

The current 5 look vastly different so Im sure it will be fine.

Well yeah of course, but there is at least a bit of a pivot away from the more obvious cash grab tactics they used at launch.

Matter of perspective I suppose, hope you’re right- but I fear it will get bogged down and feel messy

In other words, the cores are there, just allowing you access different armor pieces on.

I think thats their idea. The fracture cores will remain independant but i hope they make visor and armor color universal.

Once they start doing cross-core customization I think you will start to see how the cores will work at that point. Right now cores are locked to specifically with the armor pieces of that generation/style. And each core seems to have a different undersuit as well as leg, forearm and chest piece armor. So essentially what it’s going to be is selecting which main core you want to use for the overall look of your armor and then choosing what other pieces you want to use on top of that. I think one of the only things they’re not going to be able to change is allowing you to use chest pieces cross-core. You know since the chest pieces are designed to work with each core chest plate. Which I still have issues with all of these extra chest pieces because we can’t change the color of them. They’re all just giant chunks of metal that gets strapped onto your suit and look terrible, but hey what’s new with that because we can’t change the color of our Spartans on our own anyway to make everything uniform and colored the way we want it.

So in short when cross core customization is implemented the cores are just going to be the main suit of armor and then everything else will be customizable to allow you to individualize better.

My god imagine defending a flawed system that limits the customization face it armor cores and coatings was pitched as us having better customization than reach’s but all we seen is they are extremely limiting for no reason if it was the best way to customize our Spartans why are there so many armor cores now

Like imagine not wanting the ability for cross core armor and would rather be restricted

What the core system should’ve been was default presets like armor core 1,armor core 2 and etc that we could customize so we can quickly swap from one look to another and hopefully once full crosscore happens thats what they will become
