How armor should be unlocked in Halo 4

Ok now keep in mind to be able to have this kind of system there will need to be A LOT of armor in the game.

Anyways I think armor should be unlocked in 4 different ways.

Achievements: Certain Achievements will unlock armor

MileStones: ex. Achieve 500 kills in MM to get X armor

Campaign: Armor hidden around the levels like skulls

Loot!: Basically the TF2 system, killing enemies online gives you the chance the find random armor around the map or will just give you the armor right then and there.

What do you guys think about this system?

no - to all of your suggestions.

Achievements, yes.
Waypoint Milestones, yes.
Campaign, maybe.
Loot, no.

What about this?

Achievements: yes
Through Waypoint: yes
and maybe through in-game accomplishments like earning so many perfections will unlock this piece of armour.

I agree with most of it except the “loot” I think that’s a bad idea…Campaign seems fun though it would make a lot more people play the campaign instead of just jumping straight into matchmaking :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks for answering this for me.

Hell no.

Halo is not Skyrim, nor Fable, nor Gears of War, nor any other game out there. It is Halo. I don’t want to waste my time mid-game hunting down armor in MM, nor complete milestones to increase the noobiness of boosting and take away even more skill. The viable one is Achievements, because Bungie did this in Halo 3, and ‘in game accomplishments’ were find skulls and playing the campaign (which I would have done anyway) Waypoint unlockables is an awful system, its too easy to mod and it always breaks, in case you haven’t noticed. Don’t make us use Reach’s armory either, Just return to Halo 3, where new armor could only be achieved through skill.

The whole “Loot” idea is from TF2. I probably should have worded it better. The Loot system I would want is basically you get armor randomly for killing people. Sounds like it would be annoying BUT it does add a lot of replay value in the online.

Also forget the running around to pick it up, it would just be added to your armory.

So fun gametypes and leveling up is not a good reason to play online? Figures. You can’t make a good multiplayer game unless you can fit boosting in somehow.

Armour should be bought with credits.

Dont really hate the Cr system and I do think it should return but with no restriction on ranks.

So you think that armor should represent how much time you have to play and boost, instead of how good you are at playing? That is ridiculous

If then have a proper ranking system, then you’ll have your shiny symbol to should what rank you are. Everyone should be able to buy all armour no matter how good they are at the game.

Would a normal, traditional ranking system be used for ranks, yet cR can still exist as a separate deal to earn armor and such?

Basically
Achievements and Milestone = Good

Campaign and Loot! = Bad
^^ Pretty much agreed upon by majority of people ^^

Moving on

> Armour should be bought with credits.

Stupid idea. The cR system is just bad. It allows for people to not have to do anything in order to unlock things. Eg. I can afk in a match and still earn 1k cRs. Also note obtaining things through Achievements and Milestones can be done so by being good or bad at the game.

Achievements and Waypoint milestones only.
