On the recon controller setting…
Use AA - is left bumper
and
Sprint - is ‘X’
…I strongly feel like these should be switched because how are you supposed to turn/look with the right stick when sprinting?? That is how sprint is most useful! It’s almost pointless to use sprint unless you are running straight!!! Please correct me if I’m wrong about this anywhere but I see this being an annoying problem…Thanks. What are your thoughts?
i agree completely any of the button layouts with AA as left bumper should be switched with sprint.
You don’t need to hold X to Sprint, you just have to tap it.
With that said I’m not too fond of the layouts either.

I really want to use recon but that one issue. my other option is default…where I believe sprint is by the click of the left stick which I’m somewhat used to with Bf3…

Despite the fact that you only have to tap it, it’s really off-setting.
I can’t stand sprinting without holding onto something.
I can’t say why. I just can’t.
I’ll probably try out Fish Stick for a bit.

Try using Bumper Jumper in Reach sprint is on X (can’t think of any others off the top of my head). Like Tyrant said you just tap it, which is what you do when sprint is on the bumper anyway. Of cause if you are into your Jetpacks, well…

Again, toggle sprint is disadvantageous in many situations. Glad you understand.

This is the best argument I have heard so far. “Just use another layout” Although, whats the point of including a layout that makes players choose another one? And why so few?

You still have to do a toggle sprint using A
Recon was so close. If they only made sprint by clicking the stick and crouch as RB. Would’ve been much easier to play while keeping almost with the classic Halo controls.

Well I got used to hook handing the sprint button due to X being sprint for Reach…So I guess I’m a little bias.

Well it mustve been hard for 343 to configure ALL the layouts. But it is kind of shocking that (assuming these are the only layouts) there are so few.
I think its fine the way it is now because armor ability CANT be on X otherwise you wont be able to use something such as jetpack, hardlight shield or thruster pack and look around at the same time
