I am mainly talking if you are double UNSC in a team oriented enviornment.
So. On that huge map with the tellos how are you supposed to deal with a banished player who has a shield on his base and harasses your base with a scarab and healers then when you push him off he retreats to his base through tello, sticks one foot of the scarab in his base shield and bam. He is invincible unless you go for the shield which, with an invulnerable scarab there is not wise.
So how would any of you deal with this and do you think it’s fair (any amount of units touching a shield and getting shielded…), I’m curious.
You don’t allow for such a crushing defeat. If you allow the game to progress to this point in the game, you deserve to lose.
Redwolf is right. If you let your ennemy build a scarab, you either have a better army or didnt do jack the whole game to prevent that.
On another note. You could try to follow his injured scarab through the tello he left from. Especially if its a 2v2, your team mate could send stuff through it to help.
Mass Hornets and a few Nightingales.

Well then. So you are saying if I allow the enemy team to build a shield on their base I deserve to loose?
You our also say there is no solution I assume since you didn’t mention one. What a productive comment

No, see its that map where the tello is litterally right next to their base so they have a free pass. There is no stalking it because once he is through the Yelp he is in the shield and picking off your army if you do decide to stay there… No matter how much better your army is…
So you can’t think of a real solution either huh. Guess this has to be OP then XD
No, but honestly IMO shield mechanics need to change. They shouldn’t shield units, it’s only for the base so let it only be for the base

No, I wasn’t referring to the shield. Shield’s are easy to bring down. I don’t think what you have said is a problem. My comment was mostly directed at your statement about a Scarab harassing your base. If you are really facing Scarabs then you haven’t done your job right.

Are u talking about the map highway?

So you think a scarab and a possible army at their shielded base (that can’t be damaged without taking the shield) is still easy to bring the shield down and not get wrecked in the process? What game are you playing?

This sounds like another one of the “I got beat by this strat and need to complain about it” threads. If you really did just push a Scarab off your base then your have the unit power to drop that shield like a ton of bricks. No issue here.

You just don’t get it. DO NOT LET THEM BUILD A SCARAB. If you do, then you deserve to lose.
Nuke down the base in question with vultures or just attack somewhere else.

Again. While all their army is there, getting invulnerability and wrecking you? Not a good idea bro.
I don’t post “those threads” thank you very much. I am bringing up specific reasons and mechanics that I feel need to be adressed. UNSC doesn’t have army invulnerability at their base. Granted it is slightly stronger but what does that do that a base turret slot that shields the base and possibly all an army doesn’t?

> Nuke down the base in question with vultures or just attack somewhere else.
Maybe attacking somewhere else would be a good idea but say scarab comes back through the tello. What then? You can’t kill it and it has free harassment basically the whole game? That doesn’t seem fair to me. I mean, it’s not anything (except shield mechanics) individually, it’s that map with the tellos right next to your bases along with invincible army that seems unfair to me.
I would love to be proved wrong though. Can you explain to me a good counter to this Nakamura or at least how to beat it or something. Just proove shield mechanics + map tellos are fair without just saying it is. I would really appreciate it

You are asking a very specific question about a very specific time in game without giving any details. The best answer and the general answer is don’t let your opponent get a scarab. I never have enough population or resources in a game to build a super unit. If I do have enough resources it is because I have been winning the late game battles pretty hard and I don’t have to replace my army (in which case I have already won). So the answer to your question is to play better early and never let your opponent get to that point.
If you are at that point I would need soooo much more information to give you an answer that would actually help you. How many bases did you have? How teched up were you? How many bases did they have? What specific UNSC leaders are you? Who else are you facing? These quesitons are only scratching the surface.

Scarabs are strong on that map. But condors are the same. If you get a condor and lots of nightingales you can harrass them endlessly too. Teleport the condor back through get healed up immediately and protection from your stronger base turrets.
Don’t let the foe get a scarab on such a map! Be more aggressive!
A banished turtle isn’t too bad just gotta destroy the cloak generator then kill the engineers then scarab in that order

Thank you for not just saying “you suck git good” which, to anyone else on here (that is so disrespectful or a bad communicator) you go up against me you would soon see that underestimating me is not the right move.
Also I guess it’s just hard to wrap my head around game over conditions in this game then. So a scarab on the battlefield on this map at least means game over? Huh. Honestly I get that you shouldn’t let that happen but still. When that happens as some else said before I have the better army and could otherwise destroy the scarab in under a minute. It’s the shield that breaks this.
So. We had four bases, sufficiently advanced, they had… Three I think. Maybe 4, we were double kinsano, they were I think cutter and atriox? I forgot but I know one was UNSC and other was banished. I don’t expect a complete answer just providing as much info as I can to aid in discussion.
Don’t take it the wrong way, but what several people are telling you is the truth, don’t let them get a Scarab. Some strategies take so much resources and time that they naturally seem very strong or unstoppable, but that’s due to the risk involved in pulling it off.
So here’s how I see this issue, let’s pretend we’re playing chess, I took out your queen, knights and towers. You might try to say that coming back from that is difficult and needs to be addressed but honestly you were the one who got into that situation, no one to blame for yourself.
And lastly, what I would do (since it sounds like they must only have one base to pull this off) I would use Blisterbacks/Kodiaks on one side of their base to slowly chip away the shield while your Cyclops/Hunter and Wolverine/Reaver army protects the teleport side of the base (constantly produce units and rally them to that point).
I do agree Highway is the worst map in the game.

They have all their bases actually… How do you come to the conclusion of having only one base?? That’s quite counter intuitive. If that was the case we would have smashed them no contest.
Ok, so you are one of the few that actually contributed a good strat. Good for you! Take here the trophy
as Spartan tenso would say XD
but yeah. What do you think about base shields shielding units too tho??
