How are you adoring Warzone?

Most people in this community extremely despise Halo 4 from what I have seen. I see a lot of people praising Warzone and most people are same people who said they hated Halo 4. Warzone inherited many things from Halo 4, the things that this community hates so much. However, Warzone gets praise and Halo 4 gets hate. Just one thing I want to ask is when you hated Halo 4, how are you adoring Warzone? What makes Warzone great? I was excited for this game mode when it was announced, because of the inclusion of A.I. units and 12v12 scale. Now, this is just a game mode I barely play it.

Similarity between Warzone and Halo 4:

  • Loadouts (same thing, but more expanded in Warzone) - Armor Mod (Mixture of Tactical Package and Support Upgrades from Halo 4) - Spartan Abilities (Armor Abilities, except all players have access to same abilities) - REQ System (Kill-streak, Ordnance Drop alike system)- REQ system is similar to Ordnance Drop, calling for weapons.
  • REQ Level Energy is similar to Kill-streak/Ordnance Drop, rewarding players who performed well or better.

If you considered Halo 4 as not a Halo game, then Warzone should be considered as a game mode that does’t belong to Halo. It doesn’t expand, inherit, or evolve upon Halo’s or Halo 5’s multiplayer basis. It’s a completely different game. The question; when you hated Halo 4, how are you adoring Warzone? What makes Warzone great? Please don’t tell me Warzone is supposed to be “social”, because then Halo 4 is also great “social” Halo game.

I’d say one difference is warzone is one mode where as h4 tried expanding it to every part of the game. I don’t like warzone but not for the reasons you listed. It’s a good idea with what they were wanting to do but just failed on execution.

The list I listed is not the reason why I don’t play Warzone either. There is a lot of things that were inherited from Halo 4, perhaps Warzone could mean 343’s persistence of continuing their vision for the franchise, no wonder why it was advertised heavily. The odd thing is people hated Halo 4 for abandoning Halo’s formula and introducing Call of Duty like system, but they love Warzone for doing the same thing. I just wanted to ask those people about this thing what I think odd.

WZ probably takes up most of H5’s resources.

I wish WZ never existed and we had a bigger BTB instead, this garbage loadout system and ordinance should have died along with H4, 343i just wanted another name to cram this stuff into Halo 5.

I don’t particularly see why people like it so much either. It’s my least favorite game mode in Halo 5. It has its moments, but those are rare. Most of the time I’m irritated because of an enemy sniper or four different Banshees or Scorpions trapping me inside an armory.

People on this site like H4. WZ was created for those people. It’s pretty obvious who 343i caters to, and it isn’t the Arena players.

I still don’t get it. Warzone is so underwhelming I just don’t understand why it take up so much resources, not to mention all the bugs it carries.

I wouldn’t mind 343 scrapping warzone to just expand on btb but I don’t think it’ll happen due to war zones success in making req money. If they do continue it I expect they’ll try to improve on the warzone design or I guess I’m not playing it in h6.

I honestly love the game mode. Im more of the larger maps and chaos. In terms of the gameplay and battlefield… not chaos in servers

No wonder why we see arguments like “sprint makes you go faster in Warzone.”

How is it underwhelming? Please explain.

There is nothing exiting about Warzone. For such huge and wide opened maps and increased player number, hit-scan being the main projectile in this game (especially with Battle Rifle and DMR) Warzone is a nightmare. Bosses are bullet sponges. All the things you use is single use (aside from loadouts and armor mods). From such heavy advertisement, Warzone is underwhelming. Big Team Battle is always preferable over Warzone (wish Halo 5 had proper Big Team Battle). Most of all, I haven’t use a lot of vehicles, which are Phaeton, Wasp, Gauss Hog, Hannibal, and Mantis in Warzone. I never got access to those things. How am I suppose to enjoy the content that I am locked from?

I think I saw your comment on other thread and you said vehicles are what make you enjoy (?) Warzone, because you like vehicular combat. Sure, Warzone provides vehicular combat and it is only game mode that offers that. If Halo 5 had well designed Big Team Battle with developer maps, what would you choose?

BTB of course. lol, I know warzone isn’t the greatest but it was the only mode that could keep me on Halo 5 due to how much I hate the MP. But since BTB got better, I’ll just stick with that for now.

I love Warzone. It’s is far and away my favorite thing from any Halo ever. Aside from Infection I don’t really see any reason to play Arena at all. I love the maps. I love the loadouts. I love the abilities. I love the vehicles. I love the REQ system. I love the tiers of weapons and vehicles. It is literally everything that I’ve ever wanted out of Halo and the only reason I still play this game. I do not understand how anybody could not enjoy Warzone. It’s seriously unfathomable to me.

For the hype it brought it underwhelmed. It was supposed to be this new innovative extravagant 12v12 using badass weapons and interacting with the environment around you. Instead it turned into an unbalanced mess where many play simply cuz of the rp and cl output and not for the actual fun of it. It was fun when it first launched, but after so many updates that all play the same and now there’s even more bugs put on top of them while still lacking party matchmaking. The design is uninspiring, the A.I. Aren’t interesting, the req menu is tedious, to many dead zones on the maps, very little points of interaction, and only certain spots of the map really funnel players through it.

I never hated Halo 4. I only stopped playing cause the playlists I wanted were removed.

I’d say there was as much hate thrown halo 5s way as much as Halo 4. It’s just people remember what they want to remember and people are more likely to talk about the bad than the good.

Peoples reasoning for their beliefs was more idiotic at times during halo 4 with balancing issues yet not much is being said about halo 5 with balancing issues that are greater where as halo 4s issues where stupid because there was equal opportunity and reasons for some thing being OP were also it’s weakness.

Agreed apart from Spartan Abilities wich are present all over the game. I actually like them since we have now equal starts again.

PS:
Also, the WORST thing of WZ, WZA and WZFF is that they are built in a way that the player is attracted on buying REQ packs with real money wich su*ks and ruins the entire unlocking part if the game. The Reach system with credits was a lot better, you could earn them and unlock WHAT YOU WANTED instead of having a wall of useless unlocks before what you’d like to unlock thanks to random unlocks >:(

I’m trying to unlock Mark IV since it came out without buying with real money but I guess I’ll have it after Halo 6 launches this way -_-

Did you like Halo 4 multiplayer?

I agree, but what I found it odd is that most people in this community states they hated Halo 4 due to reasons I listed above and they state they love Warzone and talk like it’s greatest thing ever made into Halo. Warzone and Halo 4 are the pretty much same thing and people have tow distinct reaction to Warzone and Halo 4. People who claimed to be hated Halo 4 are praising Warzone, this is something I don’t understand.

I enjoy Warzone because i like to see a lot of players during a game, PLUS its something different in Halo, that I think is a good thing too. It’s cool to see Halo in a big team battle type mode without actually having to play BTB. I enjoy fighting AI as well (though sometimes they’re overpowered). The one thing I wish they’d change though, is the time limit in WZFF…Five minutes to kill # Warden Eternals is a bit hard, especially when you don’t have enough resources or die too quickly by other enemies. Overall though I don’t have much to complain about with Warzone. And I loved Halo 4 as well when it launched and still to this day.

I think the req system is worse because ordnance gave people a chance but the req system favours those with money and time. The old way allowed you to play well no matter what but still gave better players the edge. It also increased variety in matches.
