How are Xbox players able to shoot the sidekick twice as fast?

This is a recurring annoyance I have with this game. 95% of the playlists are AR starts, so the AR/Sidekick is the most common starting loadout you see. This means that being able to use the sidekick is instrumental to being able to play the game.

The sidekick spam on xbox is incredibly broken compared to PC. It’s literally an SMG to them inexplicably. This wouldn’t be so bad if it didn’t also land every bullet perfectly without having to aim whatsoever. I imagine they’re screaming the entire time like that on scene in Point Break.

Its so annoying. What can be done about this besides taking out crossplay?

I have an Xbox. Use a controller. Have a very good accuracy overall (61%).

But can’t hit the side of a barn with the sidekick.

So not sure what magical broken advantage I am supposed to have?

There is screaming all right. Just not how you imagine it.

Buy something called Kronos.

if you’re on xbox you shoot faster and have more reliable hit detection

Basically you spam and win every fight no matter what range

I’ve seen some paddle attachments at GameStop and Amazon that claim to have turbo buttons and anti-recoil, but I’m not going to accuse Xbox players of having them. I know stuff like that used to be notorious in games like CoD, but I can’t imagine anyone is going out and buying turbo controller attachments just to fire the Sidekick faster. Having paddles does help keep your thumbs on the sticks though.

Removing cross play is the only way
And as a console user, I would welcome cross play being disabled

Was it Halo 5 which had that kind of issue with the AR?
Someone found out that there was no ROF cap on the AR if you fired one shot at a time instead of holding the trigger, so, that birthed some mod for controllers which made it so that each press of the trigger corresponded to hundreds of clicks in like a second. The AR essentially became a shotgun with instakill capabilities.

I’ve seen some strange things going on with the Sidekick, especially on Tactical Slayer, but I’ve been far to frustrated with the game’s shortcomings that I’ve payed little attention to what the opponents does, as opposed to what they’re supposed to do, die. No I’m not the best player but two grenades and an AR clip usually depletes ones health, or a rocket, or an entire Needler clip, or two headshots.

I’m not sure I can press my trigger any faster than a KBM player can press their relative button.

Maybe?

The only thing I know is that the aim assist in Infinite is WAY lower than previous Halo. Certainly a mile off H5 (where it was needed because of the sprint and thrusters).

Obviously not. Otherwise I’d be much better than I am.

Anecdotally when I get two teams of roughly equal rank I tend to get good close games. I’m assuming I get a mix of inputs in these games. And they feel good.

The only time I feel the game is unfair is when I come up against the sandbagging squads (had a big one yesterday, and another a couple of games ago). They’re a bunch of -yoink-.

All we need is for 343 to publish their skill rank distribution curve. Show that there are similar curves for both populations. And show that head to head we match; eg. A Plat 5 on KMB is 50:50 vs Plat 5 on Controller.

its not about the difference between kbm and controller, I use controller as well. Your actual input speed is faster on xbox, it registers faster. The game is that scuffed on PC

I swear the most annoying sound in the world is the POPOPPOOPOOPOPPOP of someone spamming the sidekick as fast as possible and you just dying instantly from across the map

I have to disagree here. I’ve been in plenty of sidekick duels and I have to say it’s a rip to spam it at long range or even medium. If I’m pacing oh yeah bet you’re done. But if I panic nah.

This seems to be a very strange argument between KBM and Controller. It’s here and on Twitter. I honestly think both styles have certain edges.

For instance. Your range of aim motion is MUCH broader and faster then ours. Using only our thumb limits range.

If I want to play KBM I need to go play an hour of Shadow of War (LOTR) And then come back after I’ve warmed up there. Don’t ask me why.

Honestly, disable cross play. This game isn’t ready for cross play yet. When I turn it off I get CLOSE games. I’m talking one point off games. Regardless these are just my opinions. Take them as you will

Occasionally I get good shots with sidekick, comes in handy if br ammo runs out in a fight, though usually couldn’t hit side of a bus

Maybe it’s just me but with last patch sidekick became kinda weird idk like trigger button reacts faster.

Xbox players also shoot through walls. I’m betting the majority of the desync complaints are actually not the servers but the inability for the different versions of the game to communicate appropriately.

I think KBM generally shoot the sidekick faster. Maybe I just can’t spam it as fast?

I don’t know what you’ve seen, but when I spam my sidekick on Xbox even at close range I miss 2/3 shots.

well I wish I played against more people like this

Literally all I hear all game is POPOPOPOPPOOPPOP and get melted

I, honestly, wouldn’t be surprised if that was the reality.

It feels like everybody I go up against has perfect aim assist and can track me even if I move around and try to dodge like an acrobat, yet I don’t even feel any aim assist at all.

Going from MCC where I can actually feel the aim assist to Infinite, it’s just insanely weird.

It feels like the PC version is just even more broken.

Even if your input is registered faster, if you are hitting the trigger at the same rate the gun will refire at the same rate. It’s just that the gun would start shooting that hair of a second later. The only other thing I can imagine that would impact rate of fire is frame rate. A higher frame rate could lead to a slightly higher rate of fire, but it’s not too likely to be that.

If you’re pacing for accuracy then it all depends on range. Within the sidekick’s short range for Bullet Magnetism, that magnetism actually trumps the reticle’s bloom so pacing is completely unnecessary. Unfortunately on PC you don’t get red reticle, so you can’t actually see where that range ends, on controller you may be able to feel it because aim assist ends at the same range but on KBM you’re basically out of luck there and have to guess.

I’m on Xbox with a controller… wish I could fire at those insane rates with accuracy :see_no_evil:

I play at 165 and it feels like my Sidekick is noticeably slower no matter how fast I spam it. They might as well have an SMG
