While reading Forerunner novels, I thought Precurors might return. Or ancient human in geaus(ex. Lord of Admirals) would be opponent. However, Halo CEA termials imply that angry warrior servant knonwn as Didact will be angry if he finds out what have happened.
Now, iirc Warrior Servant class individual is capable of destroying continent(Was it War Sphinx?) Isn’t that way above nuke, or Covenant glassing? I know that most games do not absolutely follow materials from their lores for sake of gameplay. (Well if developers really follow how Spartans are set in the novels, it will be quite challenging to make it into gameplay.)But I doubt 343i would simply ignore lores they preciously set up.
I am not sure what kind of deus ex machina 343i will pull out.
Or do you think Master Chief will get his hand on 12 level armor Guilty Spark mentioned?

We don’t know anything, but I would like something that is really different and makes me tingle. Ahh, the though of tingle. I
Well with Halo CEA terminal and two Forerunner novels give strong hint at their appearance. Also, the machine at the end of Halo 4 trailer is exactly thing mentioned in the terminal.

Primordium confirms that there was never cure to begin with. Flood simply decided to give up on humans atm.
I think some ancient human spirit in geaus will show up. I also believe that geaus technology will play important factor in overall storyline.

The Ark wasn’t blown up it was damaged do to Installation’s 4B’s premature firing. And the Gravemind was on that ring, so when the ring fired it destroyed it. Also, there could be other gravemind’s somewhere else and there could be some flood samples on Installation 05.
The entire Galaxies population of Flood was not on Installation 00 when it exploded. It is safe to assume there are Flood specimens on other Halo installations and other Forerunner constructs.
Plus there is no solid evidence to suggest the Forerunner will make an appearance or even be enemies, because Humans are their successors so I doubt they will try to harm us.
343i could have made a completely new enemy to fight in Halo 4, possibly the aliens that crashed on Alpha Halo before the events of CA, as shown in one of the terminals.
After reading Cryptum I thought the Precursors would be the enemy. After seeing the Concept Art trailer and Terminals I feel that the Forerunners are the enemy. After reading Primordium I feel that Precursors will return and be the enemy.
343i is doing a pretty good job at keeping the story a secret.

I don’t think the Precursors will be the actual enemy. If the Precursors are involved they will act through the flood because the flood were engineered by the Precursors as a test for humanity.

And Forerunners. If I remember correctly Humans weren’t meant to fight the Flood 150,000 years ago.
Also I feel that the Forerunners will return. I find it EXTREMELY IMPOSSIBLE that they are extinct.

I also find it highly likely that the forerunners are alive somewhere. If was so easy for them to preserve every sentient species then you would think they found a way to preserve themselves. Perhaps the forerunners went in to a shield world. Supposedly there were hundreds of shield worlds and only 2 or 3 have been found.
