I agree. This roadmap just is not enough to bring back the number of players that have already taken a break from, or have outright abandoned, this title for better games.
The only thing that even has my interest at this point in time is the “Open Beta” of Forge. That being said, it will take a lot more than that single feature for me to become fully reinvested in this game. What is the point of building awesome maps if no one can download and experience them for themselves via a comprehensive and complete File Share feature?
What is the point of showing these maps off if Custom Games are still broken by the time the beta actually arrives? What is the point if we cannot play with others in their own maps because we do not have a fully built and operable Custom Game Browser?
While it is good to see that the development team might actually receive some much-needed help via Certain Affinity in Season 2, it pains me to say that I am no longer optimistic that even the simplest community features can be delivered in a timely manner. I hope that I am proven wrong; I truly am.
That being said, I will wait until the aforementioned feature is actually added in to start playing this game for any extended amount of time again. I was fooled once, and I do not want to feel the shame of being fooled once more.
Don’t worry that’ll be coming in S7… Unless it’s delayed because at that point new contractors and what not.
In any case I’m sure we’ll get several word vomit articles about how they hear us and are also deeply frustrated by the delay.
At halfway I stopped reading other comments, so answering to the OP this roadmap is… weak. All those dates are not fixed, which means they not confinet they can keep up their own roadmap schedule. I don’t what’s the situation at the studio, but feels something really off the track!
I wonder what those drop pods will be and what will we get them. This is the only thing sound promising and hoping for the next Season which makes the game 1 year old!
A big mystery for me why they at least give the fans what they want and ask?! Like at least new game modes or old ones which was in almost all previous Halo titles. I mean how hard to make a simple game mode?
Making a map from scratch using concept arts, making symmetrical, making it functional for power weapons, spawn points, look good, etc. A simple game mode inject to the existing maps to make it better.
Like they did it with Doom (2016). I remember another studio made all 3 modes: campaign, multiplayer, snapmap. The MP felt a bit weak and shallow, gladly id take it over after they finished the campaign and give the MP a few blasting game modes! Then new maps, they actually manage to make the MP more fun and more existing.
