I just got Halo: Reach back about a week ago and I have had around 1,800 microsoft points for the past two months because I don’t know what to spend it on. Lately I have been thinking that I should get either one or both of the Reach map packs, and what I want to know from you guys is: are the map packs worth the price? If you like one of the map packs better than the other then tell me which one and why. I appreciate your input. Thanks.
If you don’t get both of them immediately, I will find you. It will be horrible.

That and you won’t have to listen to my singing.
They’re not worth it. Hardly anyone plays the DLC playlists, and you never get the maps in regular MM. Also, they’re really not very good there’s no symmetrical maps (except Anchor 9, which is essentially the Pit but much worse) and the map design, except for Tempest (which would play well in any game except Reach) and possibly Breakpoint.
I advise you to save your benjamins for Annniversary, it’s gonna be amazing.

Don’t mind the lying butthurt.
The maps are disputable when it comes to enjoyment (except Breakpoint). Gameplay wise the maps function very well.
They are worth it.

I thought he was talking about the fact that the maps will be released separately on the marketplace eventually, but it doesn’t matter because I’m getting Anniversary anyway.
All of the DLC maps are better than the standard Reach maps, and Anchor 9 (Noble) and Highlands (Defiant) in particular stand out. Highlands actually stands as one of the better maps in the entire Halo series (though still not the best). The Firefight map in Defiant, Unearthed, is fun and a good bit like Lost Platoon from ODST.
Both are worth the measly 800MSP they cost.

If you haven’t played Invasion Breakpoint, you’re missing out on one of the best parts of Halo’s history.

Well what I think I am going to do is buy one of them and see if I like it, then I will get the other one. If I had to choose only one of them, then which one should I get?

If he’s only going to get one, he has to try Breakpoint. That will be a good enough experience that he’ll like it and then buy Defiant.

I wouldn’t do that, you’d have almost no chance of playing on them, but if you must, get noble, invasion breakpoint is one of the best experiences ever, anchor 9 is good for everything and tempest is great fun in assault
