To begin with I have to say the game overall is horrible because of the balance issues, UI, and Lag/Frame rate drops consistently. But, something that really bothers me is that the AI are supposed to be better than HW1, but they’re not at all! Have you ever tried using the Local/All units command while your marines were picking up supplies or power? Notice how half the time the button command does not see them as units or only selects 1 of the 3 squads? What a pathetic joke that a glitch like that goes unnoticed when the game is being published. Also, several times the local/all units button will either miss units or only select a few at a time, even though I have much more on the battlefield.
The UI is horrible as well, the controls are “Okay” but the fact there is no “Quick Snap” to teammate flare is a horrendous joke. Not to mention how useless the flares are because of how minuscule they are on the mini map. Another thing, how come the “Quick Snap” to base on the D Pad does not take you to your first base, but takes you to either the closest base or just the last one that’s built? Why in this godless world would it not take you to your first base with the first button press? Any logical answer?
The Balance issues in this game are so obvious that they don’t need stated in this thread, but the game is almost unplayable with a serious mindset because of such. Units in this game are still mentally challenged and do not move correctly at all. Tanks still get caught up on random BS on the narrow maps, even though their movement speed is about 5MPH. Also, countless countless… countless times while picking up supplies only 1 marine squad will pick up while the other 1 or 2 will run in circles like they have something up their -Yoink!-. I just have to laugh at this games obvious flaws, and the fact this is all coming from such an experienced developer(s) just makes me go insane. Is this what focusing on console’s does to a developer? Is this how you take such an experienced RTS developer and destroy their talent? Jesus.
The fact there is no way to jump to flares almost breaks the game by itself and is unexcusable. And as you said the flares themselves go unnoticed most of the time.
All units and local units not selecting units picking up crates is actually a good thing, it is not a glitch.

That’s completely stupid and just horrible. As I stated, usually it allows 1 squad to be moved while the other 2 are busy getting supplies and are not selected, which is most likely a glitch. But, there’s no logical reasoning behind this if it is intentional (Which I doubt).

How is that a good thing? When a battle is happening it is crucial to have all units readily available.

I completely agree, the fact that my units would not select with the “Select all” button while I’m not looking at the units is horrendous. Again, I see no logical explanation available for this trash.
I am not sure why they would screw the dedicated fans and change so much from the first game for no reason other than to annoy us.
Can definitely agree with the flare, and really wished we could see where our ally was looking like in HW1. My biggest concern with the AI is pathing. Watching my units trip over each other and square dance around each other while trying to change position during and engagement is disheartening.

Exactly! and this was an issue in Halo Wars 1 since forever, the AI would always just get caught up on each other and again it’s the same damn case. It’s pathetic that this developer (Who is known for huge battles and allowing formations of armies) has such crappy AI for the console RTS.

Again, it is not a glitch. It allows you to use the All units / local units command without disturbing the units that already are collecting, if you want to make them do something else you can still select them and queue another action.
This is smart control design.
