Probably been asked about before but I don’t post here often so I apologize if this has already been discussed and I overlooked it.
But how are the teams determined?
Simple, it selects the 3 worst players in the game and puts them on your team.
Im pretty sure it is all random, only about 1/5 games have teams evenly matched. Like: 340-560, 220-480. I get this types of scores most of the time going solo on Team slayer so if im winning is by alot and if im loosing it is by too many points as well.
There is no legit rank system, so you are placed randomly. Also the matchmake doesn’t understand there are four 130’s in a party.
So then it deports bad ratio players on your team to waste 12 min of your time losing.
Or you can quit out and start another game until 343 bans you for 60min for “quiting”. Just as much as a joke as horrible teams.
I don’t know if anyone else noticed this I also felt it tries to put all people with headsets together. I use a wireless headset that has a router connected to my xbox so even if the headset is off I still show up as someone with a headset because of the router and when I play alone I always get placed on the team with all the headsets.
I also feel like if you stay in a lobby it will regroup you with the same people you played with the previous game even if you dominated the other team or got dominated.
But yeah I was getting vibes that it was often random. Before each game I skim over players stats to see who I should lookout for and I often notice statistically lopsided teams which often reflect in the game.
I usually don’t mind being on bad teams I can still manage as an individual but some of these specialty objective games like CTF get to me as they can be unbearable to sit in to completion.
I was just curious though.
When you are put into the vote lobby, your teams are already determined but you all appear neutral until the map vote is over.
All those players with headsets you see during map vote are on your team. The other team has players with headsets too, they are hidden until post game.
Edit:
If you remain in the lobby post game, you will be paired with the same players last game. The game assumes you like the team you were playing with, so it puts you together to vs. randoms or another grouped lobby.
It’s nice when losers back out so a random lobby can form a good team to vs randoms and win.
I tend to find in capture the flag matches, it manages to select 4 players to play on your team with who don’t realise it is capture the flag. its very clever.
