How are Spartan IVs made?

It would be nice to know, Id like to be able to compare the S-IVs to the IIIs, and even the S-IIs to see what’s changed.

I already know they are made from volunteers, I just want to know the process, and what kind of effects they have.

Well, you see, when a mommy Spartan and a daddy Spartan love each other very much…

spartan IV’s are soldiers who volunteered from the UNSC’s different military branches. the spartan IV program also has and accepts other spartan program participants(spartan II’s,III’s and ORION candidates) the volunteers are then given a small amount of physical augmentation and trained to wear the mjolnir armor.

they are cheap knockoffs of brand name spartan 2s.

they are the twonkies to actual twinkies.

In a blender.

From Halo Nation (SPARTAN-IV program | Halo Alpha | Fandom)…

> The SPARTAN-IV Program is the fourth generation of the SPARTAN Program. It consists of members recruited from the UNSC’s military who were augmented to be capable of wearing a variant of the MJOLNIR GEN2 armor. This phase was initiated by Admiral Margaret Parangosky after the Human-Covenant War, and some are stationed near the UNSC Infinity in the Oort Cloud.
>
> Similar to the original ORION Project, the SPARTAN-IV Program would only consist of adult volunteers, as opposed to young children (despite their stellar operational record in previous generations of the program). When the program was started, surviving members of previous generations were offered an opportunity to be integrated into it, though it remains unknown how many accepted or declined. The first active SPARTAN-IVs were already deployed as early as 2553 as some of them were temporarily assigned to the UNSC Infinity before it was scheduled to launch.
>
> It has been stated that red SPARTANs fight blue SPARTANs because they are in a training simulation aboard the UNSC Infinity.

References to this information found in Halo 4, and the books Halo: Grasslands and Halo: The Thursday War.

Doesn’t say anything specific about the augmentation process, but they either widened their parameters for who could be augmented, or they have to turn away volunteers if they aren’t compatible (for lack of a better term) with the augmentations.

You guys should read; Halo: The Fall of Reach by Eric Nylund.

Explain everything in great detail. John as a child, explains why Dr Halsey is being investigated at the start of Halo 4. Old book but still the BEST halo novel IMO.

You add two S-II’s together.

No wonder the Spartans-IV felt more emotional and alive. They weren’t indoctrinated and trained from a young age. Look at how the majestic team got all emotional on S-OPS episode 2 lol, and got owned by the promes.

doesn’t have to be love

> Well, you see, when a mommy Spartan and a daddy Spartan love each other very much…

…they are unable to act upon their non-existent urges that were wiped away during their rigorous training and augmentation.

Ghosts of Onyx is also a must read, although it’s mainly about S-III’s.

Wrong.

Firstly, the suppressed -Yoink!--drive is only relevant in relation to the IIs and was only a possible side effect, not an intentional and guaranteed outcome. People have always, and still do, misinterpret this and assume Spartan’s bits just cease to function after augments which isn’t actually the case. Check out Maria, a Spartan II who left the program to start a family and Team Black who had some relations and more than friendly feelings among members.

Secondly and more importantly he was making a joke. If you want to be an -Yoink- about it at least be an informed -Yoink-.

OT: The Spartan IVs would have gotten augmentations similar to the IIIs and despite what someone said earlier they are properly augmented, not lightly augmented or whatever was posted. I’ll post some stuff from the LE material if anyone cares.

I’d naturally assume they have augmented bone and muscle density to handle the mjolnir armor system, but they probably don’t have the enhanced intelligence, eyesight, reaction speed, and overall strength and speed as the spartan IIs without the new generation of mjolnir.

Just a guess.

There are augmentations.

This is from Halo 4’s LE, UNSC Infinity/Spartan IVs briefing packet.

Palmer- “You have survived augmentation routines that would kill normal humans”
Unknown Spartan- “I’m a Spartan now, after months of surgery and training just so I could survive using the armor.”
