How Arbiter words connect to Halo 5 story?

Halo MCC Trailer link
In that trailer Arbiter said: I tell you this not because I trust you Agent Locke…"but because all our lives are at stake. Because the seeds of our future are sewn in his past"
After that trailer back in last summer, we assumed that Chief did something (wrong), which affect to the whole galaxy. And he must be stopped in order to ensure the future of all living being in the galaxy.
Or the other idea was the trailer refer that Chief really the Iso-Didact. And we can continue what was our ideas then.
But now, after Halo 5 Guardians is out, and we know the story how does that connect to Halo 5? Or we shouldn’t have to take seriously?

To be honest, those Guardians are said to police entire systems. Maybe he’s the only one who can stop Cortana. I don’t know so much has changed, in two years.

I think the halo fanboys will tell you it just doesn’t matter and was promotional. 343 just makes up whatever they want and leaves it up to the fans to try and explain it. Personally I think this is further evidence of the lack of planning, execution and dedication to the EU at 343’s managerial level. Nothing connects anymore. Key plots have been dismissed or dropped. I wonder why people are upset?

It’s really disappointing because the Arbiter’s arc feels very disconnected from the rest of the game. He’s only ever really concerned about the Sangheili Civil War, and Osiris are mainly there to get the Constructor Sentinel and access the Guardian. I was hoping the fight between the Arbiter and Jul’s Covenant would tie into the greater narrative and have a greater relevance to the plot, including recovering Chief along with the greater role of the Guardians.

Instead it’s all just boring politics. At least Halo 2 managed to connect its political scenes to the story.

I just see it as a guessing game that keeps the person focused in one direction, when the real punch is coming from another.

Personaly expecting the next game to revolve around taking out cortana. Osiris will be sent by oni but chief will want to talk her down. I can see chief going awol to get to her before osiris. Maybe oni will put out a capture/kill order on him.
I felt halo 5 set up the next saga reasonably well, the advertisements should have been truer to the game but i think someone was eager to share what they wanted to bigger picture was going to be.
Will just have to wait for some more literature to come out and give us clues.
Btw what happened to karen travis writing the books, it was her that built so much of the background, along with derek nylund.

That is true. Just look at HTT. How the hell does that tie into Halo 5… the trailers, not the audio series.
