Decided to play a bit today and started off with some social arena playlists to start and i was genuinely irritated by so many things. In fiesta i guess i had extremely bad luck today with getting no power weapons at all, Then in team slayer i was constantly matched against a 4 stack in faze skins being sweat lords. Once i switched to ranked suddenly im doing better and getting more kills and wins and i feel like my team WANTS to win. Why is the game like this? I shouldn’t be only able to play ranked to have fun.

I think you’re the exception to the rule, my ranked experience has been nothing short of irritating, additionally “social” playlists feel more competitive & it doesn’t really make for an enjoyable experience.

Isn’t ranked more fun just because you start with a BR? I am not a fan of spamming enemies with the sidekick and hoping a few shots land at the head. The sidekick still feels so wonky. Never had such aiming issues as in Infinite.

Sounds like the sweats weren’t playing Ranked today, and decided to bully the casuals in social playlists instead, so you got in a peculiar situation
Getting 0 power weapons in Fiesta for every single match is pretty unlikely, but even still, the goal of Fiesta is to fight over weapons, kill people and take their weapons, or scavenge for better weapons dropped on the ground by using your scanner
Only going against nothing but Faze sweats in 4v4 sounds pretty unlikely as well. You’re basically insisting that nobody else in your whole local country server is playing that mode except that same team, like it’s Faze’s special planned meetup day of the month to play Quick Play. I can’t imagine you played more than 2 or 3 Quick Play matches to only encounter HCS sweats
Either way, all the likelihood of this story aside, sounds like you found low tier matches in Ranked, which is a miracle itself that anyone even still plays Ranked, besides people already Platinum or Onyx and just only ever plays Ranked

Social has looser skill matchmaking so you could play much worse players, but also much better players.
Ranked is tighter so you are much more likely to play Vs people of similar skill.
In social, sometimes you’re the hammer and sometimes you’re the nail.

A few reasons.
BR starts are vastly, vastly better because the AR and sidekick are both not skillful weapons and very random.
No radar is also better balanced for anything other than the worst players.
People aren’t playing the gametypes to earn challenges.
Launch site and behemoth aren’t in ranked.

I had the same thing go on yesterday. I think for me it’s two things: the tighter sbmm, and lack of radar.
BR is fun, but I have no preference between BR or AR. I’m game for either.
Oh, also the weapon spawns are (better is not really the word I want, but) better. Consistently rockets and bulldogs instead of the hard light weapons (which are cool, but I’m garbage with them).
Idk. But I feel ya. Haven’t really played a bunch of ranked until yesterday and it was a gay ol’ time.
I have fun in anymode without an ultra sweat trying to make kill montages. This goes for both Ranked and Social.

probably because halo is a very competitive game…?
or more likely, in ranked/comp, you get more consistant players rather than ‘random’ good or terrible players on either team
For context the faze sweats i faced i matched with them twice in a row and then i switched to solo/duo ranked controller matches and as for the fiesta i played 1 match and my teammates were as negative as i was then trying to kill someone with a rocket while i have a pulse carbine doesn’t usually go well

Ranked is more fun because you don’t have Launch Site or Behemoth. All other reasons are inconsequential.
I feel your pain man. Almost feel like i could write a book about getting domed with rockets as i walk around with a plasma pistol/AR combo in fiesta. I do enjoy ranked more but only sometimes. Ranked is better when i’m watching my teammates and actually wanting to “meta” the game. While social is for my dont give a Smith if i get stomped or win i just want to push buttons. Lastly-in ranked you actually have a progression system.
Infinite is built around HCS - Social isn’t social just a garbage heap for the spare parts.
Actually having fun in Ranked, ah that’s the dream.
I can’t have fun in Ranked, not with the way this game was designed.
In Ranked you rely more on sounds due to a lack of a Radar (which is totally fine btw, don’t think I’m complaining about not having a Radar), yet Halo Infinite has garbage audio and I can’t hear anything behind me.
I just hate the side kick so I always have more fun in ranked. Spam city. Still convinced there’s a bug or a hack allowing some to shoot faster than I can. And there’s no way to avoid the sweaty 4 stacks, that’s always been true except in h5 when we had solo queue only.
