So I have yet to jump into the multiplayer for Halo 4 as I am currently at University and the one weekend I went home amongst other commitments I only had the time to clear the campaign on legendary solo.
In a week or so I’ll be home and after extensively playing halo over the years I’m wondering how I will find the experience.
From the brief reading I’ve done the thing which concerned me the most about the core changes in gameplay is loadouts, instant respawn and the fact that weapons now drop.
I embraced the change in Reach although eventually found myself returning to Halo 3 - will it be the same for Halo 4?
p.s. if possible some level headed responses would be appreciated.
For those TL;DR - played a lot of halo multi, yet to play halo 4 online how will I find it?
You’ll enjoy it. I promise.

Don’t make promises.
Personally I don’t know you enough to know if you’d like it or not. There’s many people from the CE era that love 4, as well as those that don’t. But those that don’t, are mostly stuck in the past.
I personally love it. I win some, I lose some just like in previous Halo’s. Though there are stuff that does need fixing, but not related to gameplay. Though some would disagree.
It’s a fantastic evolution of Reach’s multiplayer but if you’re looking for classic Halo, you’ll be disappointed.
You’ll like it for about 50 games. Then the honeymoon wears off. If reach made you angry you’ll be very very angry with this game.
Thanks for the replies so far.
Based on the fact that I found reach interesting for a while but then slowly moved back towards the more classic modes like anniversary (loved the 4 shot pistol)and then all the way back to halo 3 I have a feeling that I will be the same with Halo 4.
At first I’ll find it refreshing (as someone said the honeymoon period) but then may start yearning for classic halo.
I guess it depends on how much the changes appeal to me hence part of my original post - how has customised loadouts, instant respawn etc changed the game?

You honestly probably wont notice the loadouts. That is, until you run out of ammo and have no where on map to find it. Especially if you’re like me and use a weapon that isn’t commonly used by other players (carbine). Instant respawn is rather annoying when you have to fight the same guy three times in a row because he keeps insta-spawing on his teammate down the hall.
The BR isn’t the same as the old games. People say it’s 5 shot but it feels like the last bullet in the 4th shot will kill if it’s a headshot. The spread is huge now, so it’s really only useful in mid to close-range. Melees have no lunge. Everthing else is roughly the same though.
