How aim assist works

A 343 employee has come out to explain how aim assist works on twitter and I couldn’t be anymore disappointed.

“As soon as the controller/mouse is moved, aim assist is instantly disabled. Once movement stops, it takes a few seconds to reactivate. Aim assist does not come into effect in gameplay.”

So there you have it, why the game feels horrible to play and why Keyboard and mouse have the advantage. There is no aim assist when physically moving in the game.

Sad to see the heavy divisions created in Halo now

Console players vs PC
Sprint vs Non-sprint
Old Halo vs Halo 5

It’s sad how divided the community is

As a console player, I’m pretty disappointed that a happy medium can’t be struck between aim assist. Aiming definitely felt off for me using the controller and I hope 343 can find some happy in between.

Woah woah woah.
Hold up.
Not only are you incorrectly quoting the tweet by adding in bits, you have posted it with absolutely zero context.

Here is the original tweet. Do as you will.

So basically, they’ve decided -Yoink- people who play with controller. You know, their main audience. 343, please just put in the option to disable crossplay, then the console playerbase can actually have aiming that feels good, you know like previous Halo games. Even Halo 4 and 5 didn’t feel as off as Infinite does, which is sad because I really do like the game.

Yeah, it’s probably because ex pro players are designing the multiplayer.

It doesn’t just apply to mouse and keyboard, it happens on both because of how the in game physics engine works.

I’m not disagreeing, just pointing out an incorrect quote.

Why are they doing this to controller users?

Whole game has been a mess in production and design so it doesn’t surprise me.

For sure. I’m not surprised either, just kinda kicking myself for the belief this game might have been polished and fully functional upon release. That obviously won’t happen and it sucks because I really like the series.

I couldnt find anything in the original tweet stating if this was intentional or not. This guy just said thats how it works. So perhaps its unintentional?
