How accurate do you think the anniversary gametype is?

Personally, and after loading up Halo PC and doing some comparative work, I believe the gametype to be very good and probably as close to CE as were going to get without some minor changes like movement acceleration and such. How do you compare the Anniversary gametype to the original.

If you haven’t tried the gametype yet: then what the hell are you waiting for?

is there someplace where i can see the exact settings laid out so i dont have to download it, then start halo, then open up the gametype, then look thru the entire thing?

i dont know because it isnt out in america yet.only 5 more ours of standing in this line.

The only differences areas follows:
Movement Speed: 120%
Melee Damage: 50%
Shield Recharge Rate: 110%
Primary Weapon: AR
Secondary Weapon: Magnum
Grenade Count: 1x Frag

Other than this you have the CE pistol: with full auto, slower RoF, and 3 shot kill (but you knew all this already). Also similar to CE when falling if you time your crouch properly it removes all fall damage.

Just download the file from the link I posted, trust me I’m in america and I’ve been playing the gametype all day so far

On a scale of 1-10 I give it a 4.

It’s pretty bad. The movement, the pistol, everything. Hopefully they update it moar.

It truly is fantastic given the fact 343i had to work with the Reach engine. And it DOES feel like CE.

wut. its at least a 6.
The magnum is SPOT ON. good hit registration because of reach’s netcode.
the AR needed a 60 round clip. and the sniper should be harder to use.
Other than that I’d give it a 7 or a 7.5 and like I said its a lot like CE but has really good netcode

well… they cant give the AR a 60 round clip without a TU.

i’d like this change, too. especially if they actually buffed the damage of it so its not terrible when compared to the DMR / Pistol / NR at ANY range save “stand on my face” range.

I disagree with the last part.

I appreciate the gesture, but it’s simply not very Halo: Combat Evolved. It’s more like a playable alternative. For example, you really just can’t have Combat Evolved multiplayer without indestructible vehicles. That doesn’t work. Also, while the Pistol is more or less back, none of the other weapons are. We still have our Reach weapon arsenal, which doesn’t feel anywhere near the Combat Evolved one. Rockets seem more meaty in Combat Evolved, Assault Rifle seems more viable, etc. The weapons just feel different.

Also, and this is obvious, the aesthetic is visibly Reach. Combat Evolved is a vibrant, bright game, and Reach is darkly-colored by comparison. These maps go more in the direction of Reach for obvious reasons.

Overall, you’re right; it’s great for the circumstances. This is an admittedly rapid release cycle, and they got as much work done as they could in the time given. That said, it’s still fundamentally nowhere near Combat Evolved in my opinion (after having sunk hundreds of hours into both games).

seriously: I hate tuddy spraydowns but the AR isnt effective at any range against the DMR. I’d like to see it reclaim its sack.

very easy to 3 shot. Like we said, strafe acceleration needs to go.

Love the fast kill-times though. Makes reach kids cry ;p.

“I have no time tu reactz, and y cantz i haz my sprints 2 excapez dat piztol of deaf, dis is so badz and unskillfool” I was LMFAO

Thought I heard that some where today  Lol

-Reason.

Love the movement and love the pistol, but that’s it.

It’s pretty impossible to give it a 10.

However improvements can be done by using the custom settings.

I’ve already heard complains of Reach kids complaining of the movement speed and the pistol killtime sayin: “Both are too fast!”.

Well too bad, that playlist wasn’t catered to you then.
