How about "What If" Fractured events?

Instead of making Fracture events of alternate universes, I thought about taking inspiration off MCU’s “What If” series and came up with the idea of armor based of alternate realities in Halo.

For example, an alternate universe where the Flood actually succeeded in infecting most of the galaxy. Spartan armor can look more grim, full of flood guts. Kind of a Fallout look. Or another idea would be where UNSC actually was able to join the Covenant. Have that introduce playable Elites as a Fracture core. What if Humanity found Forerunner technology before the Covenant? That can justify glowing Spartan armor.

This could be a better idea with much better alternate realities. There are only so much grimmy Samurai/WW2 universes you can make before 343i start making an armor core around fluffy animals. Every game with alt-universes gets to that point.

FRACTURES - HERESY

An alternate universe where Humanity joined the Covenant as the “Acolytes” and eventually learned the truth that they were the Reclaimers. Thus the Great Schism occurs yet again, but in a different light; a Schism led by Chiefmaster John and Arbiter Thel Vadam’ee.
ACOLYTE Armor Core is Covenant-inspired design. Think of the “Helioskrill” Armor from Halo 5.

FRACTURES - EPIMETHEUS

The UNSC Infinity was targeted by the Didact with the Composer. The Spartans on board became a new form of Promethean - The Titans. And they are a hive mind of connected individualities that resist the Didact’s control and thus save Humanity from his threat.
TITAN Armor Core is Promethean Forerunner design. Think of “Fotus” or “Prefect” from Halo 4.

FRACTURES - RECLAIMATION

Humanity had discovered the Forerunner technology hidden away on Earth. They fulfilled their genesong and reclaimed the Forerunner Legacy. Soon we began to expand among the stars. And then when we encountered the alien races that were warring with one another, they formed The Coalition and fought Humanity in a desperate bid for freedom as they saw fit.
INHERITOR Armor Core is Advanced Design that resembles the “Hellcat” Armor of Halo 5.

FRACTURES - MILLENIUM

The alternate timeline where Apple received Bungie’s title of Halo for Macintosh OS. In which, we get an alternate telling of Halo CE - The Original 25 Mission Script. And it is all told in third-person since it is an RTS game.
ORION Armor Core is literally the Armor Design of Halo’s Spartan units way back in 1999.

FRACTURES - GRIFBALL

An alternate timeline in which extreme sports are now played by people at the peak possible human performance levels thanks to augmentations and military-armor hardware! Veterans now have a future as a sports star!
RICOCHET Armor Core, which is a slight redesign of Halo 4’s armor while still resembling gridiron football armor. Armor pieces can come from Halo 5’s armors of Nomad, Vector, Athlon, Goblin, Breaker, Cypher, Timmy, and Olive (those last two being the helmets worn by team mascots, with more possible mascot helms added later on)

Also, to point out; technically that is entierly what the Fractures universes ARE.
Alternate universes where the Human/Covenant conflict happens in spite of each of them developing in VASTLY different capacities than the main canon continuity.

I get the impression they want to make the fractures distinct from the core canon.

For example, a What If where the UNSC invested in Droids instead of Spartans. Well that’s something that could exist in the core canon and so they might not want to rule it out or create confusion between the two. A small change might cause that kind of confusion.

I love all the ideas you given with your Fractured Events. But definitely, that is what the Fracture universes SHOULD BE. They should be different scenario endings instead of practically the same universe with a different theme. Many games already have alt-universe skins that follow the WW2 and Samurai Speculation, 343i will eventually follow the rest of those themes when they can instead just create more unique themes that complement the Halo story. Because I am sure that Halo has so many end directions.

Well if they do that, they can a droid armor core even if its in the core canon. After all, the Rakasha armor set is part of the core canon and an armor core too isn’t it? All cores don’t have to be a Fracture set

Im only setting what I think are better ideas for when they make more Fracture designs

Honestly, I am just wondering how they are going to make Fractures Belos, Fractures Blackguard, and Fractures Drengr look in Halo Infinite’s style.

Because Honestly, these Fractures Alt-Universes are something that GREATLY helps the armor selection of Halo Infinite.
For example, we had a LOT of doofy armors in Halo 5 Gorbians.
Take Legionnaire for example.
It DOES NOT belong in the UNSC we know and love.
But thanks to fractures, I can see a slightly redesigned version of the armor being applied to the Fractures Belos Armor Core.
Same goes with Valkyrie being somewhat redesigned a little and applied to Fractures Drengr.
Shinobi, Ninja, and Bushido from Halo 5 and Halo Online can EASILY go to the Fractures Tenrai cosmetics.
Buccaneer can easily be applied to Fractures Entrenched.

And for some of the armors that are far too curvy and sleek, such as Breaker, Athlon, and Vector; those can be applied to a Fractures Armor Core where we see the Ricochet armor of Halo 4 recreated in an alternate universe where Sports are highly intense and the sports stars receive military augmentation to further enhance the excitement and capabilities of said sports.

These alternate universes provide us with a means to ensure that we have varied designs that can step out of the standard design norms of Halo WITHOUT really angering fans too much as it is explained as an alternate universe rather than “This is what a Spartan is!” while pointing to a guy who unironically wears the Seeker helmet in Halo 5.

Exactly true.
But Rakshasha follows UNSC design norms and is supposed to be a more budget version of MJOLNIR meets SPI armor, something that Spartans can wear that is cost effective yet doesn’t make their capabilities diminish.
I cannot wait until we get the other Canon Armor Cores we already know exist PLUS whatever new stuff that they might come up with. My predictions are as follows, with everything after Laurette’s Armor being speculative -

  • Mark IV Gen-1

  • Mark V Gen-1

  • Mark VI Gen-1

  • Mark VII Gen-1

  • Mark VI Gen-3

  • SPI Mk.1

  • SPI Mk.2

  • Spartan Laurette Agryna’s Armor Core

  • Headhunter (SPI Gen-3)

  • ONI Hunter Gen-3 Armor Core

  • Helljumper Gen-3 Armor Core

  • Mark I Gen-3 (Gen-3 recreation of MJOLNIR Mark I)

  • Mark II Gen-3 (Ditto)

  • Mark III Gen-3 (Ditto’s Ditto)

  • Mark VIII Gen-3 (Sequel to the Mark VII Gen-3 - Likely to be released during Year 3 of Halo Infinite)

  • Mark IX Gen-3 (Ditto - Likely to be released during Year 6 of Halo Infinite)

  • Mark X Gen-4 (Ditto’s Ditto - Likely to be released during Year 9 of Halo Infinite; with all subsequent armors being Gen-4 through the rest of Year 9 & 10.)

But you can’t deny the ideas for Fractured armor cores can only go so far before they lose creativity and become a trend. Halo can’t always follow the dark, grimmy war-torn designs that the community wants. They already argue about the medieval armor sets in MCC, look at even how the community divides over just cat ears. I just don’t see it go so far.

Having Fracture cores being alternate realities of the main storyline, rather than an alternate universe, you could create cores that fit the Halo theme more appropriately.

. . . . . . . . I don’t get how you are upset at the fact that we still get mainline Halo armor that stays within the design norms of Halo while we also get the chance to have more varied armor sets WHILE not breaking the design norms of the main canon?
