> > Microsoft will not port Halo 4 to the PC. The reason they did so with Halo 1 and Halo 2 was because they sold the Xbox at a loss, considerably larger than the current Xbox 360. They could try to make up for it in the PC market.

> > However, in this current generation, the Xbox 360 is one of their driving factors. They are trying to integrate everything into it, and forces those who want to use these features to have Xbox Live Gold. Halo 4 is a convincing factor to get an Xbox 360 and XBL Gold, whereas if it were on the PC, they wouldn’t have to get an Xbox 360.

> > As this generation ends, Microsoft will try to push as many sales of the Xbox 360 as possible, and also XBL Gold. Also, they will allow these memberships and games to be carried onto the next-gen console, which will be a driving factor for that console. A PC port just doesn’t make sense.

> Are you forgetting Halo 2 vista being a Windows LIVE game, which basiclly used Xbox LIVE for MP, which in turn needs an Xbox LIVE gold account? Microsoft is greedy, right now, even if their exclusive game became a Xbox and PC only game, they’ll still sell get people to buy Xbox LIVE gold, and with the kenect, they’ll still get Xbox sells. Also, there aren’t as many PC elitists as you might think, I know a very few my self, one of which is just an anti console/anti Microsoft person. The others, they’re elitists for their own reasons. I see more Console Elitists than I do PC elitists. All platforms are in a way a PC, Xbox, Wii, PS3, they’re all personal computers, the only differences are what make them tick. And right now Xbox is no longer next gen, for a time, both the Xbox 360 and the PC was at the same level of graphical power, now, the PC is in the lead.

> There are reasons why Microsoft doesn’t go on all platforms, some of which is pirating, something that is the cancer of PC gaming. Would I love to see Microsoft give their balls a squize and release another few Halo games on the PC, Hell yes, will it happen, maybe, none of us can really say rather or not they will. When it comes to Microsoft, even the fence sitters can be wrong.
I didn’t forget about it. In fact, it’s implied I already knew about it. Windows LIVE was not only a colossal failure, it doesn’t promote the purchase of an Xbox 360. This has nothing to do with elitists, or Microsoft’s greed.
It makes perfect sense that a company is trying to sell their product; in this case, good games are exclusive to that product. Tell me why would anyone sell product A on the PC, when by restricting it to the Xbox, they can introduce users to a plethora of other features. It’s an opportunity cost - Microsoft lose sales on PC, in order to sell the Xbox and the other items it brings.
Xbox, unlike Microsoft in the OS/software world, doesn’t need to fear piracy as much as PC developers; it’s not in their domain.
