Do you guys think a Locust would work in halo 5?
It might be a little big, but otherwise that I think it would be kinda cool to see it in action.
I think another Covenant Vehicle would be awesome. The Locust as a long-Range Covenant vehicle would be cool. It’d probably have a cannon similar to Reach’s Focus Rifle or the H5 Binary Rifle in that it is a steady, very high damage beam that deals high damage over time. I think such a sniper vehicle would be really welcome in the Covenant’s arsenal of Vehicles that have weapons with travel time.
The Locust could have: Shields like a Banshee, about 75-80% of a Wraith’s health, a Binary Rifle-like cannon with a .7 second charge up time and high sustained damage. It can fire for 7 seconds at a time until a recharge, and the Locust is immobile during the firing of the cannon. The beam will kill a spartan in 1 second exact of direct contact. The Locust could also have a melee similar to the mantis, albeit a bit more powerful, a bit faster, and a bit further away horizontally since the Locust would reach out with one of its legs. REQ level 6 or so.
For a REQ variant or to get a bit crazy, maybe the beam could deal more damage with each consecutive hit, which stacks quickly since the laser hits repeatedly like the Binary rifle.
It would be a building killer. As in, you could shoot a building and everyone inside would die. It’s only balanced this way.
I think it would be pretty cool.
That would be pretty sweet. I don’t think its too much bigger than a wraith so it should be doable and its kind of a mini scarab which is cool.
The only issue is that a beam that’s cuts across the map in a line you can hold down and sweep across the map would be very difficult to balance.

Fingers crossed haha
Would it be a light (hijackable) vehicle or heavy (boardable, no hijack) vehicle?
Go big or go home right.
Raise your Locust with a Scarab

Hmm… well in along wars it was highjackable, so I kinda like that. but I also like the idea of latching onto the under belly and planting a sticky grenade… lol
I’d love to use one in a main game.
I just noticed something…
Why are so many vehicles named after insects and animals?
- Scorpion - Warthog - Pelican - Wasp - Scarab - Etc…(Dont hate me, I just…never really noticed. Lol)
I loved the Locust in Halo Wars, and honestly, wouldn’t mind seeing them in Halo 5 or 6.
It would be awesome… I remember suggesting this back when I was a marine… need to find the ancient thread through…
Locust would be awesome! As well as the Revenant, Spectre, and Chopper!
A Locust would be a nice addition. They’ve rolled out done new vehicles and different variants of others, thei might as well keep going!
Could be an intersting addition.
Maybe as a boss, but, as a vehicle it’d need to come out with a more open map for war zone.

Oh for sure.
Here’s to hoping that comes in halo 6.
