Now before I begin, please remember that this is only an idea and that if such plans were actually taken, development dates could be longer then said within this post and that the content could be smaller resulting in more small updates.
ok, so I have said this before in a few posts, but I feel that it needs its own thread so that I can, ehh… elaborate more on it.
As of now, Halo 5 has, game mode wise, Slayer, Breaout, CTF and Strongholds, along with Warzone and Warzone Assault.
Now, I am not here to complain about it and basically say, “get your act together 343!” because that is not the right thing to do here, I love Halo 5, to me it is fun and my favorite Xbox One game. But, compared to past entries, it is lacking in diversity of game modes. I have an idea of what they could do, so bare with me here, the first thing I am going to say may shock a few.
1) Stop making monthly updates for 3 months.
Gasp! Yes, I know this may sound crazy, but it has a logical reason behind it, while I am not exactly sure how these updates are developed and the scheduling behind them, I am sure that by releasing one each month, they are burdening themselves down on how much content they can actually push out the door.
Now, when I say this, I do not mean 343 stopping support during these months, but, not release anything new, like maps, modes or REQS. what 343 should do is stop making REQS for these months and give the fans some air, the issue is, since they keep making more and more REQS, they are not giving fans time to unlock stuff to get to the cool stuff. So what will 343 do during this time you may be wondering?
To keep Halo 5 relevant, they should do mini updates during those months, make modes that have been seen before, like doubles, snipers and FFA rockets, permanent additions to the playlists. On the UI side, they should change the sub texts under Multiplayer in the main menu, changing the WARZONE text to SOCIAL, now the reasoning behind this is so that BTB and FFA rockets could be moved over to this playlist area instead of being with the ranked as well. Another benefit of doing this would be that social versions of Team slayer, breakout, along with CTF and strongholds could be added to it. along with adding to forge, custom games, theater and File share.
On the content side, 343 could release REQS planned for later DLC during the 3 months along with adding in more forged maps, but for a different purpose. Action Sack. FFA rockets, and creative fun versions of things like slayer, CTF and breakout could be made to use with new forge maps, a Great example would be META RAID from Halo 4. 343 could add a random weapons option to custom games, and make a CTF forged maps for the mode, adding it to action sack.
SUMMERY: 343 should stop making REQs for 3 months along with adding any real maps or brand new modes to Halo 5.
2) Update # 1
After 3 months of developing, 343 could release the first huge update out of 2 or 3. The update would contain 4 game modes and 3 non forged maps and 4 forged, sadly no REQs though. for example, we will say the update contains this:
MODES:
- Grifball (social) - Fiesta (not in MM it self but for other modes) - Oddball (ranked and unranked) - InfectionMAPS:
3 non-forged BTB maps
4 forged maps (grifball)
3) Update #
The second big update that comes the next month.
MODES:
- King of the Hill - Race - Ricochet - JuggernautMAPS:
2 non-forged maps
3 forged
SUMMERY: Content that said updates could have.
So, this is how I think 343 could add more content to halo 5 in a swift manner. Please add ideas of critics if you have any that would benefit such a plan, again, this is just an idea, not any confirmed info or real data on content for Halo 5 in the future. I know this post sound crazy due to the amount content contained in each, that and 3 months is not a large amount of time.
I think 343 is doing great with Halo 5, but, I think they could really win back those who may have left by adding in all these modes together instead of stretching it out. This benefit the matchmaking, custom games, and forge greatly.
Thank you for reading.
