If they made an ODST 2 with multiplayer. CoD fans like the fact that kill times are short. If they configured the ODST health to be similar like CoD, they could actually attract some CoD fans.
NO. THIS IS HALO. WE ARE NOT HERE TO PLEASE THE COD KIDDIES.

Halo≠CoD.
I never understood the argument between the two. Both are great FPS games. I prefer Halo because I like sci-fi/arcade FPS. I played CoD in real life, so I avoid that one.

Yes but if ODST branched out into a seperate series, like Halo: ODST 2 like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, we could steal some CoD fans and keep them in the ODST series, away from the rest the people who will play Halo 4, 5, 6 because they like the classic feel.

Lolno. If they already play CoD, they already play CoD. They’re not just going to all of a sudden love Halo because it’s a CoD clone. Look at almost every FPS that came out since MW2. They’re all CoD clones now, but still nobody buys them. CoD players will be CoD players, and Halo players will play Halo. Again, we’re not here to please CoD fans, we’re here to play Halo. We shouldn’t just all of a sudden make a new series to punish actual Halo fans and reward CoD fans in a cheap attempt to build up a larger fanbase. Also, I don’t want that community of 8 year olds in my Halo.
It’s threads like these, Waypoint. It’s threads like these…

I see we disagree.
Personally, I play both Halo and Cod, and would be interested in an ODST multiplayer that has fast kill times. Although, I am a huge halo fan so I will be more excited for Halo 4.

NO! We are not here for CoD fans, we are here for Halo fans and that is the way it will stay. Halo already gets enough sales and population as is.

Oh you play Halo AND CoD?
Then play Halo when you want to play Halo, and CoD when you want to play CoD.

ODST Multiplayer won’t play well.
No Sprint would kill it too.
Plus, it would need some sort of back story.

I’m just saying if 343i wants more money, they could take some from the CoD fanbase with this. No need to get pissy.

May I take this time to tell you why the ‘spin-offs’ have stopped and why they have moved on to a new Trilogy?
Microsoft themselves confirmed that the sales of Halo Games dropped after Halo 3 because people were in it more for Chief’s storyline and not a spin off.
If anything, 343i will make more money focusing on the trilogy instead of spin-offs that get bad sales.

I play both and think it’s a pointless idea. A game setting out simply to grab CoD players, but once they have them keep them entirely isolated from the true halo experience, you might as well just let them play CoD.
Fast kill times?
Swat anybody?
Anyway, I would say when people buy a Halo game, thet are 50% interested in the story and the Campaign, and 50% in multiplayer.
With COD fans, it more like 5-10% on the story, and 90-95% for the multiplayer.
Cod fans arn’t interested in story, thats why Cod stories fail in comparison to Halo.
Making a Halo game like Cod would be a waste of an opertunity for a great story.
Um, you do realise that ODST actually used the same health mechanics as all the other halos? Stamina literally was your shielding.
> Um, you do realise that ODST actually used the same health mechanics as all the other halos? Stamina literally was your shielding.
Yes, but stamina was not as strong as shields.

Comparing it is, it was.
I felt like I would die just as fast as I did in Halo 3’s Legendary compared to ODST’s.
Play Halo 3 on Easy & ODST on Easy, guaranteed you will feel it is the exact same.
Jeez, don’t just jump down his throat, guys…
I think an ODST 2 campaign would be amazing with a more CoD-like interface. ADS and sprinting, taking cover…All this stuff is the kind of things ODSTs ACTUALLY DO because they don’t have the Spartan augmentations and MJOLNIR armor to help them out. I’d love to play an ODST game with ADS, regenerating health, and a crouch/prone system. Battling the covies with all kinds of iron-sights and different scopes…
Sounds like a bloody good time to me!
