How 343 can make an unique BR

A BR on an entire halo ring would be awesome with different environmets and locations from the different games in the franchise. Something unique 343 can do with a BR is that you can respawn as long as your squad is still standing. This would create mini 4v4 skrimishes and would emphasize team play.HOWEVER, 343 should make sure the entire game is content complete before working on a BR.

HOWEVER, 343 should make sure the entire game is content complete before working on a BR.

if Infinite’s Forge Map was the halo ring, it would lead to more diverse locations in forge. Hopefully 343 can use the ring they are using in campaign

I was thinking one of the major (not only) way they could make it unique is having your health and first layer of shields automatically recharge. All BRs require you to use an item to reheal even if your health is at 1. I was thinking that everyone’s health and first layer of shields would automatically recharge, but you could stack 2-4 overshields (thus acting more in-tune with other BRs).

This simple change would effect gameplay in other ways and require different items etc.

If Infinite were to go for a unique take on a BR, I’d like to see them try and incorporate some PvE elements of warzone from Guardians in it.

For instance, have a massive map set on the ring with various forerunner structures, UNSC camps, and Banished Strongholds/ships scattered throughout. Each one of these areas at the start of the match would be overrun with AI enemies that you had to take out in order to capture the base. After doing so, this is how you could gain access to power weapons and vehicles, as opposed to having them just laying around on the map or called in through warzone’s REQ system. This would have players deciding whether or not they should hunt down other squads right away, or try to capture a base so they could get some upgraded gear, or try to ambush a squad already in the process of clearing a base.

Such a far fetch idea that this would ever come into play in the Halo universe. It’s not Warzone from COD, but whatever the next one down is that type of play could really enhance another game mode of Halo. Dropping in via the ODST drop pods would be insanely crazy fun!

That forge world would be insanely big! Dream for the stars and land on the moon, am I right?

A battle royal in the sense of something like Fortnite could literally never work in the Halo sandbox. You think it sounds like a great idea until you find out whoever is lucky enough to snag a BR when they drop in will just have a colossal advantage over every other person in the game that doesn’t have one. And that applies to all the power weapons too. I don’t see any way you could even balance that, unless you were to drop in with loadouts or something but if that’s the case then what’s the point of having that game mode in the first place? Why wouldn’t you just play Halo’s warzone or BTB? People complain about uneven games in MCC, what do you think would happen in a game type with 100 players? If even one team is in the 50 skill range they’re just going to farm 90% of the players in the lobby and probably win the game too. I think Halo should just be Halo and stop chasing trends. Chasing trends has done nothing but damage the franchise over the last 10 years.

The Halo rings were practically made for a battle royale, it’s like a match made in heaven. If a game like Fortnite can have an evolving map with its seasons, then there is no reason a Halo battle royale couldn’t have an evolving Halo ring.

Respawns are not unique. Blackout did that like 3 years ago. Apex does that now.

yeah this would be a fun way to implement pve. Mabye power weapons can be in these areas.

True, but what I meant is respawning like in normal halo. There will be a timer for x amount of seconds, with increasing timers for number of deaths, and you respawn as long as someone on your team is still alive and they are near the location where you die. I feel this will allow more team play and still play like halo in a BR setting

Halo is known for innovation and I feel like the franchise has the potential to innovate battle royal beyond the “100 people land and last man standing wins.” They can implemet a fun pve locations on the map where power weapons spawn. Mabye implement aspects of Halo 5 warzone. Mabye instead of a closing circle like in other halo games, part of the right collapes or the flood takes over a portion of the ring making it hard to survive in that region.

I just wanna drop into the map via ODST drop pod.

Yeah, it sounds great on paper to everyone interested, but that’s usually how most things end up. Great on paper, hit the trash bin when it gets thought about a bit more. I don’t see how it could really work if it follows the trend of every BR game out there with the shields and the health, plus the whole weapon sandbox, I personally can’t see it working out without causing a big rift.
