Hosting a Halo 3 LAN this weekend

Hey guys, just wanted to share something exciting. A few months ago some friends and i were talking about the old days of Halo 3 and Reach and It put a bug in my head, and i’ve been thinking about hosting a LAN since then.

So, i asked a few people if they might be interested and they said hell yeah so i decided i’m doing it.

At first i thought it would be pretty complicated rounding up 360’s and copies of the game, but i learned that it’s backwards compatible which makes my life a lot easier. As it currently sits, we’re going to have 6 xbox’s split between 12 people, so long as the 2 copies i got off ebay come in the mail in time. I’m hoping to get a few more people between then and now also. My ideal dream is 8v8 BTB, but we will see.

I’ll let you guys know how it goes!

I’ve been wanting to do this as well, unfortunately my old halo 3 crew have all moved to different cities over the last few years. Hoping to be able to do this in the near future. Miss those days.

There is always GameStop for last minute Halo 3 reaches, I think its sitting at $5 right now.
FYI if you are using backwards compatibility I believe it has to download through the internet, if you have decent internet this wont be a problem.

Otherwise preloading may be a good idea.

Sounds like a lot of fun!!

Local video game stores are great places to find extra copies for a cheap price. Also, take lots of pictures! I’d love to see the layout and how everything went!

This sort of thing is definitely missing these days. Competition in HALO is pushed so hard over pure fun. Those bygone days are most welcomed when people that shared a common love of a game got together and celebrated having fun. Who knows, maybe you will be the next house in the Connecticut suburbs
