Host Selection Process?

Does anyone know how the host selection works? I’m starting to think it just gives host to the player with the worst connection. I have 150mb D/L 12mb U/L an open NAT with a wired connection and I haven’t pulled host once. I’m not all that bothered about getting host I just want a good connection to play on and if that’s not available I get host, my connection is more than capable. I would say 9/10 games I play the connection is poor, I might as well play with my hands tied behind my back.

“Dedicated servers”.

But it probably just finds the host with the minimum average latency. Or with a little bit of 343 magic, it’s probably random. It used to be whoever was the lobby leader.

I’d venture to say you were closer with the latency as that is what they do in AW. So it’s mostly based on location to be honest (check out Drift0r on Youtube, some of his most recent videos are of him using a special router (NetDuma (*sp?)) in order to test who the host is and check his latency to said host).

This is probably a pretty decent way of going about things, though in playing about 6 hours yesterday (it was a celebration don’t judge), I only experienced lag in two games (one of which was during 3/4 of the other team quitting out). One of my friends however had poor internet connection and experienced lag in probably 4 games or so until he reset his router.
