I saw this comment on an H5 FB group post: “So I’m glad on H5, we only have Ping Advantage, formerly known as Host Advantage, wich is the console where the game resides, so this player has zero lag, so he’s ahead on time about 1.2 to 2 seconds, his team will win 90% 98% of the games… so I will definitely say, Halo 5 is among the few, more real competitive games on xbox live, even with the bs lag, and connection issues.”
Is there any truth to this? Is what he refers to different from dedicated servers?
Perhaps I misunderstood, but I’m not sure what that person is on about. Halo 5 compensates for players with different ping numbers. You’ll notice this in a hammer vs. hammer situation, for example. You’ll clearly swing first on your screen, yet you will both die. That’s Halo 5 compensating for two players having different pings to the same server. No host or ping advantage.
From observation, the game seems to favor players with really bad connections, so H5 is a game where you definitely want to select “Balanced” or “Focused” when searching.

Yea this guy talking about 2 second difference is crazy to me. He seems to think a specific console runs the game and everyone else follows. I thought. Server ran the game and everyone else followed. Idk.
