Why is this still an issue, years after the release of halo 4? If anything its worse now than when I got the game. And I don’t seem to have this problem with other PvP games.

The reason the game is laggy is due to the low population and lack of option to search for a best connection. Lack of people means that you will just be matched up with anyone around the world who is playing, and if the person hosting the game doesn’t have the best internet connection or you live on opposite sides of the world, then the game will lag. Thats peer to peer hosting I’m afraid, nothing 343 can do about it specially at this point.
