Horrible Performance of mid level GPU

For more info here are my specs

GPU: AMD Radeon RX 560 2GB

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 2300X Quad Core Processor

RAM: 8GB ( single channel )

These are pretty much mid level specs and I go in a multiplayer game and even when running at 1360 x 768 resolution with resolution scaling down to minimum or even with minimum framerate capped to 959 I still stutter a ton and only get 39-42 fps, plus I’ll be honest, Infinite is a good looking game, but not to the point where mid to high level PC’s should start freaking out like this, I figured with my specs I could get decent FPS by lowering resolutions and settings but it doesn’t change anything. And yes I’m aware this is a tech preview, but does anyone else have thoughts on this?

Noticed the same, just going to chalk it up to pretty shoddy optimization and probably a mix of just having to get used to the fact that, yeah, my hw is aging.

It does definitely run poorly though.

Kudos to getting by until now with this, but unfortunately, you fall under minimum spec with your card’s VRAM. You’re gonna find it increasingly difficult, sometimes outright impossible to play newer titles without at least 4GB. I’d normally recommend an upgrade, but the GPU market is a complete mess right now.

Minimum and Recommended specs can be found here:

I’m getting some pretty bad stuttering on a 1060 6GB, so the optimization isn’t really there yet anyways. You might be able to get by with some config file tweaking on the actual released product, but don’t quote me on that.

Your GPU is under the minimum spec for the game see below:

CPU: AMD FX-8370
GPU: AMD RX 570
VRAM: 4+ GBs
RAM: 8+ GBs

People seem to think that 2 GBs for VRAM is enough for this game, its not, this game is built for the future so you going to have to upgrade you GPU to at least a 4 GB Card (preferably 8 GBs). I would even say the amount of RAM is not going to be enough down the road either but that is just my opinion.

Another thing to keep in mind, more games now are using more GPU power than CPU power to power the newer titles out there so you going to have to start investing in a really good GPU down the road for the AAA FPS titles out there.

Your specs are low end not mid-level and below the recommended min specs of the game.

originally I was gonna buy an RX 580 8GB for this game but someone told me not even that’s doing to well with the game atm. Now I’m thinking of getting the AMD RX 5700 XT they recommended, but I was also wondering is there anything similar in performance under the RX 5700 XT’s pricing, and ik it’ll be a mess to find a GPU in that range considering the market that’s going to hell atm. And another thing I’ll mention is that yes ik my card atm ain’t the best but to see Infinite stuttering even at a 4:3 resolution with the game essentially looking like a blur I’d say is unacceptable even for an RX 560 2GB.

Yea I use an RX 580. Never dipped below 30 frames, but never even reached 50 frames during matchmaking haha, rough times. Hope I can get a new PC soon, I really wanna enjoy this game on launch day with max settings.

Im sorry, but a card with 2GB of RAM is not mid spec.

the 6600XT is about equivalent and brand new. Because the 5700xt is so good at mining it is very overpriced. for an idea of pricing (may be different in your region), In australia the 5700xt goes for $1200 and the 2070 goes for $800, those cards are the recommended spec for Halo Infinite. I think the 2070 is technically weaker in many games but it does have ray tracing and machine learning, which is used for DLSS. The 5700xt isn’t really worth it for gamers, only for miners. If that’s still too expensive, maybe the older GTX 1070 would serve you well as well, It’s significantly cheaper again than the 2070 (but still overpriced these days).

You need to cap framerate 5-10 frames lower than your avg to get consistent performance, but I think you can play it.
Try disabling all on screen effects (shield recharge, and turn on async compute.

Honestly I would take it a step further and keep your FOV around 85 max and set your fps limit and max fps both to 30

Take a look at these settings, make sure you’re running the latest driver, and set all driver settings for Halo Infinite to performance as well.

Final piece of advice, if you have any additional monitors, DISCONNECT THEM.
Infinite does not like additional monitors lol
