Hornets,Falcon,splitscreen and more

I feel like hornets should be an added feature in halo 5:Guardians.
The Hornet was first seen in Halo wars and Halo 3.
The Hornet would be a great way to transport troops around the map as other air vehichles are for only 1 player.
I see the Hornet as a very successful feature. It would make gameplay much more interesting.

Also the Falcon from Halo:Reach should make a comeback into the halo franchise.
I suggest making 2 versions of the Falcon. One with the Pilot’s turret and one without it.
It would be a very cool feature and I am sure that many Halo:Reach fans would love to see it come back into Halo 5:Guardians.

Splitscreen is a very important feature in many games.
Many first person shooter games include split screen so the host can play with close friends on one console.

A revolver is a powerful 6-shooter hand cannon. It should be in every Halo game.
I think that many players would enjoy shooting aliens with it.

Dual-weild is a feature from Halo 2 and Halo 3. It should be met in Halo 5.
It reduces the accuracy but improves the fire rate.

Rebels have been in the Halo Franchise since the start but have never really been in the game as such (Only in Halo Wars).
I think they would be a pretty symbolic enemy in Firefight (Etc).
Carrying human weapons and acting as a hostile version of Marines.
They could also include their own bosses (Tank Driver, commander etc)

Brutes have been a worthy enemy. It was always hard to fight them up close. They carry heavy weapons.
A brute tribe would be a decent feature in the game. A brute chieftain weilding a powerful hammer could tear a few players up close with one hit and is also very difficult to take down. I feel like the brutes should be added to the game since we already have some brute weapons.

Rhinos-A much more powerful version of the scorpion. It was a special unit in Halo Wars.
With powerful plasma cannons it could tear through enemy vehicles and infantry.

Granade Launcher/Plasma launcher. They have been featured in halo Reach.
An explosive weapon firing granades/Plasma granades.

Attachments to armours. You would be able to unlock these from Req packs. armour attachments have been a great feature in Halo Reach. I think that it would be great if the player could personalise his spartans.

Halo 3 ODST magnum. It holds 12 rounds and it fairly quiet. It also includes a small flashlight at the bottom.
It is much longer than the Halo 5 magnum.

Iron sights-Attachment to the Battle rifle. making it a close quarters weapon. Also a special sniper with Iron sights.

Invasion mode-2 teams fight against each other. 1 team is defenders and the second team is attackers. The defenders have only 1 life each, have limited ammo and limited weponary. The attackers on the other hand have unlimited lives and some heavy weaponary. The objective of the defenders is to hold out for 5 mins and the attackers have to break into the base center and plant a bomb or something.
There should be special maps for that such as a fixed version of High Grounds from halo 3. Where the the attackers would have to break into the base and open the gate so the rest of the team can bring in heavy vehicles.

Comment your opinion.

I like the Insurrectionist idea and maybe adding the Grenade Launcher back (the Plasma Launcher has already more or less been confirmed). I personally feel like the Hornet and Falcon would be too ineffective and risky for proper use, and that we already have enough sights for the BR as is. The Hybrid Sight or Recon Sight are basically Iron Sights, anyways. Warzone Assault basically is Invasion, though arguably less asymmetrical.

All that especially falcon, and add Halo 3 Odst Suppressed SMG

There, fixed it for you.

I said it before and I’ll say it again…

Less nostalgia, more original ideas

now I’m not saying everything in this topic is all old but quite a few of them are, and I agree, seeing some of these back would be nice.

After reading through that I will give my personal opinion on the things you said.

  • I really want the hornet to return, but since it is a VTOL vehicle just like the wasp it would feel very similar and I don’t think it would add much besides additional room for people. Even then the skybox is a bit too low and your second point makes it loss effectiveness in both carry capacity and firepower due to the falcon and wasp. - I think the falcon could work and be a nice way to transport a few people over. It makes it so ground choke-points can be bypassed, but also runs the risk of anti-air weapons taking it down which is a nice balance. The only issues would be again the skybox is too low and there would need to a helipad or some designated space for it to spawn and allow others to hop in. - Splitscreen should be in all multiplayer fps games so I agree with you 100%. - I don’t think we need a revolver or any other side-weapon since the magnum is good enough as is, but who knows it could add something interesting. - Dual-wielding worked in Halo 2 and Halo 3 because of how weapon stats where setup. I feel like it would be very hard to balance in Halo 5 because of how it is with weapon damage; a SMG in Halo 2/3 is much different from a SMG in Halo 5. It was a cool feature, don’t get me wrong, but I feel like it would cause an inbalance or would take more fixing and working out the kinks than it is worth. - Adding rebel enemies would be rather cool and it would make more sense to be fighting against UNSC weapons/vehicles than Promethans randomly jacking it. - Again I agree; there should be Brute enemies and they already have some of their weapons in the game so it would be refreshing and cool to fight against them while avoiding a gravity hammer to the face. - While the rhino is cool we already have so many scorpion variants and types that it would be unnecessary. - We have the plasma caster, but I get what you mean. Would be interesting to have an explosive weapon with better arcing allowance so that you could hit an enemy behind a wall. - I do like the armor attachments and customization in Reach which is something I miss. - The ODST pistol was cool, but again unnecessary with the magnum we have and plus the flashlight wouldn’t do too much right now. Though on that thought it would be interesting to have flashlight mods on weapons and have a few dark maps or dark areas on them. - I don’t think iron sights are needed especially since there is the default HUD sights plus the hybrid sight would take care of that. - That’s a really cool idea and could be done. If you wanted you could make forge maps and do that. I like the idea of layers of defense and trying to hold certain areas to prevent or slow enemy advancement especially their vehicles like on Darkstar.

No on the hornet. They need to add a Harrier aircraft that can hover and switch to a jet mode for extremely fast get aways (fly faster than the normal rocket from a spnkr but fly slower than the spnkr prime rocket). Have 2 gauss cannons in place of rockets and 2 oni warthog turrets. Put heavy Shields and have armor as strong as the basic tanks but have a perk where the Shields when fully charged will cause the armor to repair itself. Name it the Pteranodon, slap a req 8 on it and call it a day.

No, we need a falcon first.

Iron sights? No please.

No Iron sights, we have smart link now anyways so they would be irrelevant.
I like the wasp, but the hornet and falcon are just so much more fun to me, and yes I’m nostalgic, but the ability to carry players through the air is unique to these vehicles. Yes I know the sky limit is rather low and is probably difficult or not feasible to lower but if the wasp, phaeton AND multiple banshees have room to fly around I think that point is moot. If not the hornet and falcon, then at the least introduce a new aircraft maybe not even UNSC that has the same effective goal, the warthog in the sky. There is a lot of potential REQ’s for it and by creating an entirely new vehicle it could be balanced to fit the current game rather than basing it from older variations.
There is no reason to hate on splitscreen, it should be in the game all the time everywhere.
No revolvers, this is halo not Call of Dukie.
Dual wielding would be great, but like others said it would require rebalancing so I don’t think it is worth the time or effort for Halo 5, putting it off until Halo 6 would be fine.
Insurrectionists is a great idea, maybe even insurrectionist REQ’s?
Brutes were always a pain in the @ss, that’s why I liked them, they were fun and should definitely be added.
No Rhinos, there is a Hannibal scorpion and that is close enough, now a mythic REQ Grizzly would be awesome. (I can tell someone here plays halo wars)
While we are on the topic of grenade launchers and plasma launchers, all of the old weapons should be added to the game, obviously rebalancing is necessary, but the classic BR just left me wanting the Reach DMR.
The Reach customization was a whole different level of phenomenal, bring it back.
There is already a silenced magnum, but the ODST smg would be cool.
Invasion? Of course there should be invasion, just bring back the way it use to work. It could fit in Arena and leave warzone out of the equation.
Elites were just annoying to me, they would need the same hit boxes but are clearly different shapes and they lacked customization. If it can be done well, then fine add the stinking Sangheili.

343 should’ve never have taken out split screen, I used to enjoy playing with my friends on co op when they would come over

Add a suppressed H3ODST to that, as well as a revenant, and thats a great list.

There is just one thing I disagree with you on, OP. Brutes are not formidable enemies. I kick their butts every time I play against them.

I’d like it if they actually brought back another weapon that appeared in only one game… The mauler. I assume that is what the author of the post is talking about when they say revolver. Also I would prefer split-screen again since I used to be the one who just had the halo games so my best friend could play with me. I think that a level 8 req could be the Grizzly super tank, the fully upgraded tank we used in the third mission of Halo Wars. Those were absolute beasts in battle and would make an excellent way to combat the Grunt Goblin in the last round of Warzone Firefight
