What does it mean that 343i puts that in there is it an Easter egg or a sign that a hornet will be in future DLC by the way come join TTG message me on xbl DynamiteDylan73
They’re just teasing us.
Maybe. But a “brand new” vehicle in a future DLC? Good joke xD I doubt this will happen…

i dunno, bungie put in snow camo hogs and scorpions in halo 3, i know its the same vehicle with differant camo but theyd still have to re-do it in some way, they could do a whole new vehicle would just take some time
Eh, I wouldn’t think so mate. I’d rather consider it “making the Halo universe fluid”. At least by seeing them in the backdrops you know the company hasn’t forgotten about them, and that they may intend to include it in future games.

That was a simple skin job. Anyone with an Xbox is able to swap skins on models.
Halo’s engine doesn’t allow patching in of weapons, vehicles, and armor though.
I think it’s a neaet nod to veteran players, nothing more.

It does if it’s limited to a specific map. Remember that on that same map (avalanche) they completely re balanced how the hornet functions.

And then released it alongside the regular hornet as a forge object in future maps
If they included the Hornet as a DLC only vehicle more people would buy it, people that wanted new maps, people that liked the hornet, people that like forge, and peoploe who like custom games would all be somewhat obligated to buy it. And the hornet would function well on the new map, with most of the area being outside and all. And I want to point that spotlight at people lol
Right. They can add new things to new maps. But retroactively adding new things to old maps would require a HUGE title update that would basically require you to redownload all of the maps they added it to.
I have seen no comments anywhere on the internet questioning why the Hornet size is stupidly big?? Have you seen the size of compared to the buildings??!!

People who started with halo 3 are considered veterans now? I’m beginning to feel old.
having a purely aesthetic element is a far cry from a fully functional object that players can interact with
i feel old too for wishing to fly the old hornet again. still while watching the hornet fly away i noticed they removed the jet engines in the wings with propellers and they tilted farther than they should too, also the hornet banked really sharp to when it should remain relitivily flat. don’t believe me play halo 3. also if 343 does bring back the hornet they should give it the same flight controls as the falcon.
I see it as their way of trolling us.

Probably.
Hornets are like flying mantises that don’t have overheating guns. From what I remember, they were overpowered on all maps they were on except for avalanche.
If they were put into Halo 4 dlc then they would certainly be different. The machine guns would be able to overheat, and I think they would make the hornet have slightly less armor. The rockets would probably be the same though.
can’t be done, unless only on new maps. 343 has no more map pack plans.
Its not even there. If you shoot it no bullet marks are left. Its just scenery. If anything it’s a nice small addition to let people know 343 still remembers.
