I really hope that what you get from having certain achievements from past Halo titles will get you maybe some avatar stuff or something along those lines and not actual armor. Now I would usually be saying the opposite but here’s the story on that so please bear with me. Could use some advice on what to do.
A year ago, I had my XBL account hacked by I’m guessing someone close to me that somehow got my info, still have yet to find out who. They had my account for a few days before I realized that I was being booted offline randomly and signed out. I guess we we’re signing it at the same times. So I did the whole call Xbox thing and reported it. They locked it and investigated. I looked my account up on Xbox.com and saw that they we’re playing games that I have not played and that my achievements where wrong. I had around maybe 50k before and it was in the high 70s after. I remember seeing that and it scared the hell out of me. I knew exactly what they we’re doing.
Couple weeks go by, didn’t really look at it after that because I was so disappointed that I was going to lose everything, my account and my achievements. Get a call from Xbox saying that my account is ready to be used again, they changed my LIVE ID and told me to redo everything so I did. I was very surprised that I even got it back and did not even think to mention the achievement thing to them. Well, it has since come to haunt me as not too long after I got reset completely.
I have had this account for 6 years. I have gotten every single achievement for every single Halo game released for 360 thus far, but now, after Anniversary and the reach map packs, I only have I believe just over 1k toward Halo. Finished Anniversary out and got an achivo from one of the new map packs for Reach and that is it. I remember getting all the original achievements for Reach. Spent so much time and had so much fun doing it. Same with Halo 3, ODST, and Wars. Been pretty disappointed about it lately. I have since built my GS back up but it is not the same without all those Halo achivos. I have not called Xbox about the reset because I saw on their forums where people post about being banned and reset and it looked like a waste of time and that they would not believe me as I need proof. Idk how I prove that I got hacked and went through all that. Maybe they have it on record idk.
Now here is the weird part. Here on the site, it shows my very low achivo milestone. But on the Waypoint app on the 360, it still shows I have all the achivos I had and a high milstone which is a glimmer of hope. I even took a few pictures of the states with my GT and everything just in case. Although I think the last time I tried loading up my stuff on the app it said I have absolutely nothing, not event a Reach game played or anything so it may have been a glitch at the moment but idk.
So yea, if you read it all, I thank you. I really hope there is something I can do about it but I don’t think there is. So that is why I’m not looking forward to finding out what all you get for having past Halo achivos. In the end, I’m a lifetime Halo fan and nothing like this can push me away from it, although for awhile I really did not want to play Halo anymore because of everything lost. I know I know achivos are not everything but some people obsess over them. I’m not one of them I just really enjoyed getting all the Halo ones over the years. Took a chunk of my life away haha. So yea. Hope someone can give me some good advice on this. Thanks for sticking around. Can’t wait to 1000g H4!
Nothing from previous Halo games will affect anything in Halo 4 I believe. You should be fine on achievements aside from the whole Waypoint record/career thing.
sorry for your loss, its a shame to have everything you accomplished be taken away like that.
if your worrying that past achievements will have a great impact on the amount of customization options rest assured, halo has never really taken an interest in those kinds of things before so they probably wont in halo 4 either.
another thing to note is that you could go back and get the achievements again if necessary.

Unfortunately he can’t go back and get the achievements again in the past games, unless he made a new account. cause when you get reset you can’t earn ANY achievements in the games that were on your gamer card at the time of being reset.

Thanks. Yea it really sucks. But that is good to hear and probably will be true. Oh and I wish I could go back and get them all. I would in a heartbeat. But once you get reset you can never earn them back from the games you played. The only way you can is if DLC is released and it has achovos. That is what happened with my Reach. I can only get the last map pack achievements because it was released after I got reset.

That really does suck dude I sincerely hope there is a way you can get the achievements back.
However there are others who, like you, have spent a huge amount of their time getting Halo achievements. Why should they not be rewarded because you may no longer qualify?
I feel your pain but others still deserve recognition don’t they?

Seeing as how we got armor for H:R from previous achievements, it’s safe to we will again.
It sucks that that happened to you OP, but I want a little sutin sutin to show that I completed a certain achievement. Just as long as it’s something hard like the 241 w/the SL in ranked FFA from H3.

It sure is a reference to the band. I don’t think it’s funny when people say something about the movie and they think it is. I’ve just grown to ignore them.
And I don’t think the achievements from previous games will do much for the in game aspect. Most likely only the achievements in halo 4 itself, so you should be fine.

Thanks a lot man. Yea I see what you mean. I don’t in any way think that though. That’s why I said I would usually be saying the opposite thing like “man, I hope I get some sick armor or emblem or something from Waypoint from all the achivos I have”. I’m just hoping that it is not a big deal in my case that’s all. I mean if you do end up getting some sick armor or emblem then that will be pretty cool. Everyone that has the achivos deserve it for sure. I would just be upset because I did all of them and won’t be getting any armor or emblem or whatever they roll out. Not trying to be selfish or anything at all. I appreciate your point though : )

Haha yea I remember that one. Fun times. And yea I definitely feel ya. That’s why I’m so bummed about it. I would definitely want a little sutin sutin as well for them. We’ll see what they have in sore for you guys soon enough.

Hahaha nice man. Love TDWP. And I can’t imagine all the movie references you get. Good you’ve grown to ignore the,. Someday they will learn the difference : ) Well, we will see pretty soon what they will do this time around. I remember I was so excited on Reach to have that tribal emblem thing that goes on your player card when you linked your account to bungie.net from I believe beating Marathon or doing something with the arcade game. I had all the other emblems as well. They might do something like that again but who knows.

I’ve got my halo 2 one currently on my reach record. Never had the halo ce pc or the “HALO” nameplate. I wanted the HALO one so bad but couldn’t get it for pc /: I have the marathon one and all you had to do was play marathon to get it. Can we still change these on bungie.net or not anymore? Or is that somewhere on waypoint now?

Well, like I mentioned, I’m not totally sure because on here it resets your milestone. But on the Waypoint app on the 360 it did not last time I checked. So I don’t know. I would day it does though. Matter of time before the app shows me as reset but hopefully it wont.

Yea haha Oh yea I remember those. I’m pretty sure I had all of them because luckily I did everything before hand like the PC one and the Halo 2 one. And yea that’s right I thought you had to beat Marathon but couldn’t remember. And that is a great question. I have not seen anything on here regarding those so I’m pretty sure they are still linked to bungie. Try checking your account setting or link setting on bungie.net. All those setting may still be there. Wouldn’t see why not.
Im really sorry about what happened to you and your account, I would freak out if my account got messed up. Luckily when i was hacked MS support saved it completely, MS points, gamerscore, gamertag. But I remember seeing that there is going to be some armor and unlocks for certain older halo achievements and Waypoint milestones. I believe it says this in the halo 4 section of the site under ordinance or something. Shouldnt be anything major tho, look at reach. 2 helmets and a bad chest piece.
I sincerely hope there is a way you can get the achievements back.
