Hopes for infinites future.

Don’t know if this is the right place to post this or if this is just a bad topic to put up but I am hoping they really expand on infinite both in single and multiplayer after launch. Like we all know playable elites will not be a thing at launch but it is something to hope for in the future.

Bellow is a few ideas and hopes for the future of the game at least from me. Sorry if this is just pipe dreams.

  1. Playable elites in multiplayer
info: lore wise they do cross train so that can be how it is done, as for gameplay they could have a better shield at the cost of being a slightly larger and slower target, to give some reasons to play them other then just looking cool/

  2. Jackal shields as equipment
reasoning: Cause I am tired of having to use SPV-3 any time I want to toy around with a shield. IT could add a lot to gameplay like while active the shield limits you to one handed weapons and replaces your melee with a block.

  3. Locust and grizzly from halo wars as vehicles
reasoning: would be nice to have more “tank tier” vehicles, like the locust and grizzly, each can bring something unique to the game. The locust bringing its dome shield and high damage beam weapon making it a good support vehicle with the ability to protect a team and deal with heavy ground threats, where as the Grizzly is armed to the teeth and armored to match being one of those high value items for a vehicle drop.

  4. Embracing past weapons by bringing them back in unique ways.
example of idea: The focus rifle from reach while it is game play wise a long range sentenal beam it has some unique features like the scope, it could easily be brought back as an anti shield tool burning through spartan and vehicle shields with ease. Another weapon that can be brought back could be the flamethrower form Pc or three with its function being more area and asset denial able to burn the ground dealing DoT to anything that gets close or lighting up a vehicle forcing the crew to get out or burn to death.

I’d expand more on the species catalog, why stop at Sangheili? Jiralhanae have their own equivalent of shields; Power Armor, which admittedly shatters once the shields break, but this can simply be rectified by having it enter a cool down state, as stated in Contact Harvest Plasma would leak out as it took more hit’s, causing it to overheat.
Hell, San’Shyuum? Prelates are quite LITERALLY the direct counter to Spartans, and given how little they have been explored, it would be an excellent opportunity to learn more about them.
My personal dream is for Kig-Yar, particularly T’vaoans, who have been absent from games for 10 years now. I really wish Halo would expand more on the Covenant species histories, cultures, but we rarely get bits and pieces, Broken Circle was excellent but barely tapped into anything, and Chol Von and Sig Raan showed so much promise only to be cut off, must I go on?

I like what you’re saying here but as it would go for multiplayer anything to upset the balance may not work for a halo. Halo MP is all about starting out on the same foot as everyone else on the map. Giving people different stats per say totally changes that balance. I am not saying it is a bad thing but may not for MP. I would love to see it in campaign though have covey shields and maybe player 1 is chief but in coop your other players can be elites at some point if they could make it make sense in the story.

I would love to see the flamethrower make a comeback or the sticky launcher would be tight.

Those vehicles sound over powered as -Yoink- for MP lol but could be fun in Big Team or def on campaign.

I cant wait to see what news they give us next and for beta flights so start coming out.

I would love more options for the custom side of things.

More player types would be great. Imagine scripting a game type where one of the players on your team is actually a grunt… and you had to bodyguard them across a map to a designated area.

Give me all the old / classic weapons… and new experimental ones. It’s customs - so we get to balance our own sandbox!

And same with vehicles.

Forge + Scripting + Bigger Sandbox = Magic.

343 has already confirmed that there will be no playable elites (#Ask343 | Halo Infinite – Zeta Halo - YouTube) in Infinite, for now. Maybe in the future?

Yeah maybe the first idea needs some work, maybe something like this.

After X season they add none Spartan races, these have no movement or shield differences but do have hitbox differences.

the species.

Human: current standard
elite: easier to headshot from the front, slightly larger, to compensate harder to headshot from the back.
brute: slightly taller then humans but similar stats (highly unlikely even if we beg)
Jackals: come in all three of the current types including skermisher, they are smaller in size but much easier to headshot from the front and sides.

Even this the only two I can see are human’s and elites. And they can easily be balanced with eachother so that neither is an advantage at the start. hit box differences will also change up the sandbox abit, meaning you can’t just aim at head hight don a corridor and hope.

on the vehicles, both can easily be balanced think of them as power weapons something that is in the middle of the map that you want to fight over or destroy to deny the enemy access.

The locust would be the easiest to balance in this way, with its main weapon being a lower power scarab beam it could have something like a 2 second TTK and limited to 10 second bursts with 3 second cool downs. its main focus would be its dome shield. Though do to only having one main weapon and being a one man bottom enter crew it is easy to flank and board one plasma grenade and boom.

The grizzly is just something I have wanted in halo proper for a while, gameplay wise it could be done easily as a 2 crew tank. A driver/main gunner/Rocket gunner, and a top mounted MG gunner instead of a front mounted. This makes it more of a risk to use when fully up as you are a primary target. The main gun would likely deal less damage then the normal scorpion cannon but fire twice as fast, the top mounted MG gunner would just be another MG. The big thing would be its ground to air rockets. IT would be a jack of all trades. With its main balancing point being its slow and an easy target at that, being heavier its turret rotates slower and its max speed is half that of the scorpion.

Your basically going down the hero shooter route I stopped reading at that point

all of this could be dismissed with one thing, cosmetics. Elites in general is a large task given they would need to make a comparible customization roster to that of the spartans. Adding further species only makes that more daunting for each season and results in less customization released per species per season

I never quite realised this but it is an excellent point concerning the possibility of playable elites over all.
I’m one of the advocates for having them in the game but 343 having to support an additional race with cosmetics is quite intense. Maybe it will still find it’s way through a season like they are doing now with MCC but i’m a lot less sure now.

Easy way to do Brutes is to just give them normal shields for gameplay purposes.

Playable elites is definetly possible later in the future.
I would love to be able to use a jackal shield as equipment, but it might conflict with the drop wall in terms of function.
As much as I would love to use a locust or grizzlie in multiplayer, i’d want it restricted to Firefight. It’s simply not necessary to have in mutliplayer modes.

I sure hope not. Sangheili is one thing, but playing as a Jiralhanae or San’Shyuum would have awkawrd implications to the gameplay. unless it was restricted to a specific mode, but that’s alot of resources going into something that I personally feel isn’t quite right. This isn’t Gears of Wars Horde mode, I don’t want it to be. Too many gameplay mechanic changes. You’d also have to look at the hitboxes. San’Shyuum and Jiralhanae are very differently shaped as compared to Spartans in terms of body proportions. The Infinite elites at least look similar enough to not warrant a hitbox change. Brutes are too big! Although Halo 2 Anniversary did it with the larger subspecies of elites, so who knows?

Maybe for a future Campaign DLC?

I’m sure it will happen naturally with time but more multi-player maps I believe is crucial for infinite, keeps things flowing and drives player intrest. So far I’ve only seen the 3 maps. Does anyone know of any more additional maps or plans to announce more before launch? My apologies if I’m completely wrong here trying to be more informed. I’m extremely excited for Halo Infinite and eager for more info.
