Hi guys,
the concept will be spread for Gears of War on PC and XB1. Hope we will get this opportunity to battle between both plattforms either for Halo Wars 2.
The option to enable this “want to play crossplattform” via game search would be the missing feature, in case you think playing on PC has more Advantages
cheers
its probably not going to happen, in 343’s recent Q&A that question was brought up, it was a pretty resounding NO, and i agree. cross-platform would be ok for the casual players but would completely wreck competitive play.
don’t even bring it up people will just get on here and cry even tho you mentioned a option they don’t have to use. I have used the same argument. There not intelligent enough to use a check box.
They can’t even unite the PC playerbases for Halo Wars DE.

It wouldn’t if kept on unranked playlists.
I support cross play on any unranked playlist.
would you guys give up the idea of PC being better then xbox one? I use a controller on my PC and always will. you can beat a mouse. and if that’s how it is then have separate competitive play… either way the PC playing the xbox one will have to run the same so cant complain to fps. it needs cross play to be alive again. unranked on anything would be nice

I believe you’re referring to me. How kind of you to speak of me in such a reverent fashion.

There is no good argument for crossplay. We’ve been over this.

Agree with this. It’s just unlikely.

Apparently there is since people want it and even rival companies are talking to each other about it.
your argument always boils down 2. that there has to be a decent amount of people not intelligent enough to either select a different playlist or turning off the check box. Which would insult most gamers.
I even used to have these same arguments with Rudy but at least he agreed on how it could be implemented to harm no one. But you don’t want compromise.
I’m currently doing pretty well with controller on PC, it does have a few disadvantages though.
Cross-play on unranked would probably be fine, opt-in option would probably be even better, although I am not sure if I was playing really competitively on Xbox why I would want to bother putting myself at a disadvantage on purpose.
Could even do 2 tick boxes, one for ranked and one for unranked, turn unranked on as default.
They’ve already answered this question and stated there are no plans to add crossplay to this game, not to mention PC players would have an advantage over console. They are able to click on the minimap to get from place to place faster.

Why implement it if no one in their right mind would check that box?
There’s no reason Xbox players if given a choice would tick that box. They have enough players so there’s no advantage to it for them.
It looks like anybody that bought the Ultimate Edition will have to buy Halo Wars DE on Steam if they want a multiplayer population. Right now they won’t even unite the 2 PC playerbases.
I feel this should be done for casual play, i see no problem for unranked play

I would

just because you wouldn’t does not mean other players would not. Not everyone is afraid of the boogie man.
It certainly wouldn’t hurt Unranked.
I assume that Unranked still uses a hidden MMR to keep match-ups relatively close, so players would still end up playing people of similar skill-results (for example, a good console player may play against a mid-level PC player). And even if PC players were to be the predominately upper echelon of players, it wouldn’t matter because it’s unranked.
The games where you get sweaty and nervous (ranked) would still be strictly level playing field.
But as for an expanded search option in Ranked, I wouldn’t ever enable it.

yeah i think it a option for unranked would be fine but there is no need of it ranked.

Yeah, it’s kindof really important to specify ranked or unbanked or both.
Hmm, this justification is weird to me. Everybody tells me how easier to manage it is to play RTS titles with mouse and keyboard on PC.
So why not using them on XB1 in the future when it will be available according to the infos?
Then this silly (not) ranked restriction can be erradicated too. I mean what helps us to have 2 similar gaming networks on Win10 and XB1 when playing together is not possible?!
Xbox only, PC only, that concepts are just old fashioned ideologies, which are just walling in the gaming ecosystems. I mean look at Rocket League e.g.
playing on PC with PS4 Players is possible…
P.S.: And I think using tools like Youtube or any other text oriented app, would give any XB1 user a better experience instead of using the Controller to type in the search subjects - if voice control is not available…
A keyboard and mouse are only really good for a desk. I’d say most console players sit far away from a TV on a sofa. It’s also a totally different control scheme to a controller which would make it difficult to adopt.
