I hope they integrate Halo Reach multiplayer into the MCC online playlists.
It would be awesome to have all the traditional Halo online multiplayers in one neat package. They can add a “Halo Reach” game specific playlist to the MCC matchmaking playlists, then add Halo Reach maps and gamemodes to all the cross game playlists.
If they charge for the Reach multiplayer add-on, then it will split the playerbase in two, which is what paid DLC does in online games. It will cause a slew of unwanted matchmaking problems.
If they want to charge for Reach, hopefully they can make the online multiplayer portion free for all MCC owners (so the playerbase isn’t split) and integrate Reach into the current matchmaking playlists. Then charge for the campaigns for Reach and maybe ODST.
I know its called Halo The Master Chief Collection, but why couldn’t they have just called it The Halo Collection and included Halo 1-4, Reach, and maybe ODST?
This topic has already been hashed out a thousand times here and elsewhere. It’s never going to happen. 343 has already explained why they’re focusing on the Master Chief games only.

While that makes sense when focusing on only the campaign portion of the games, when it comes to the multiplayer aspect, it is a bit of a bummer.
We can never truly say “We can play all the Halo multiplayers on the Xbox One!! Awesome!”
We have to say “We can play all the Halo multiplayers on the Xbox One… except Reach.”
Even though Reach was an oddball and went back to the traditional style of Halo CE multiplayer (with the loadouts like Halo 4). Just play a mix of H2A and H4 if your truly desperate to play loadout styled armour ability multiplayer… Or play Reach on the 360. Looks like a lot of people are throwing that argument around.
Simply no. So many people are complaining about lack of playlists for matchmaking. We don’t need to dilute matchmaking any further. If they add anything it should be more remastered maps for H2A.

It would only be one added playlist, the “Halo Reach” game specific playlist. Then there would be Halo Reach maps and gamemodes added to the cross game playlists. Maybe 4-8 per playlist.

It would spread out people even more. Most will be playing H2A due to it being new and I think CE as no one has played it on XBL before. The rest will mingle amongst their games.

If anything, it will convince a lot of the current Reach players on the 360 to migrate to the Xbox One and buy the Halo Master Chief Collection. Because Reach isn’t included on the Xbox One, there are many huge Reach fans that will be sticking to the 360.
If we look at the player populations of Halo Reach and Halo 4 on the 360, Halo Reach actually has a bigger population than Halo 4 most of the time…
I have looked at the populations. Halo 4 has more or less than 1000 players per set with the odd 200-300 on the ones lower on the list. Reach has at the most 700 per list. And generally, most are on slayer. There just is not that many people on reach. And trust me, Reach fans would want to play the old Halo 2 classic. That’s everyone’s fav.

And it’s near impossible to find matches on Reach firefight. Nobody is able to properly play Invasion, Team Slayer and FFA are the list popular while the rest are neglected.

I just checked the population for all the games last night and Halo Reach had a bigger population than Halo 4. I counted all the playlists population by hand then added them up.
I just checked this morning so I can count again and all the Halo Reach playlist populations are 0, making it impossible to count. I played a few playlists and I was able to get into games quickly, but the population remains at 0 for all of them, indicating that the player count was turned off…

While this makes sense if we only take the campaigns into account, from a multiplayer perspective, it is kind of a bummer.
We can play ALL the traditional Halo multiplayers online on the Xbox One… expect Reach.
Oh come back in 2020 for the Halo Reach Anniversary, seriously. Our lives will be going for a while, better to stop complaining about stuff that will not happen.
Also, you do realize it says at the top how many active players there are? I’ve seen 20,000 at once and I’ve seen 2000 at once. It fluctuates, kinda like Halo 3 is right now. Halo 3 has barely 1000 in general, meaning those servers will go offline eventually. Then Reach, then Halo 4. MCC I’ll revive the actual stories of Chief. I could seriously care less running around in Noble Team suits fighting other Noble Team Suits.

> Reach is not a traditional Halo game. In fact, Halo Reach was probably the reason Halo 4 was so nontraditional.
Traditional multiplayer meaning there are two teams of four or eight that shoot each other for various reasons. ODST doesn’t have that traditional multiplayer, neither does Halo Wars. But Reach does.
In that traditional multiplayer sense, leaving out Reach is a bummer. The multiplayer would fit in perfectly on the MCC online matchmaking playlists.
