Hope they have Forerunner Saga easter eggs

It seems that Infinite will take place on Installation 07. This ring is super important, as there’s a ton of history, a ton of stuff went down there. I really hope with us being there that they could have easter eggs or references to the events of the Forerunner Saga. Not so much an integral part of the story (though that’d be nice) but stuff in the background, and places we visit, such as the Palace of Pain.

It’d be super cool to see one of the Primordial.

Were there any notable Easter eggs in halo 5?

The thing is, both Halo 4 and 5 used The Forerunner Saga as their backstory, but I think they relied far too much on that backstory without explaining anything to the players, especially the general audience who won’t have read the books. What I’d like is, if the story of Halo: Infinite is being made with The Forerunner Saga in mind once more, that they do a better job at explaining things. Halo 4’s issue is that they tried jamming everything into a single cutscene (on the Reclaimer level with the Librarian). Even I, who had read Cryptum before playing Halo 4, couldn’t follow this cutscene the first time round. It was far too much information in one hit to make any sense. Halo 5 failed by doing the opposite. It explained nothing. It threw in concepts like the Domain and references to the Mantle (as Halo 4 did) but without even hinting as to what those things truly were. My point is, I don’t just want Easter eggs and references to The Forerunner Saga in Halo: Infinite. What I want is for the exposition to be integrated into the story and environment in a far better and more well-thought-out manner.

I really hope 343i gets this message.

Very true, I would love for stuff from the Forerunner Saga to play a role in the games, ad for it to be explained better for those who haven’t read the novels.

The thing is we’ve technically already seen him. He’s now Gravemind, or the consciousness of the Flood.

Topic: I nice little reference to Mendicant Bias would be cool.

Sure, but that’s not the way he’s seen in the Forerunner Saga. The same argument could be used for Mendicant Bias as we’ve already seen references in Halo 3 in the terminals.

I wouldn’t say it like that. But for all we know, we don’t really know how the Primordial looks like, putting aside the idea that the Precursors had dynamic bodies, meaning they could change shape as they wished. His consciousness is now part of the Flood. We talk to the Flood, we talk to the Primordial.
Either way, after the firing of the Halo rings everything Precursor, including Star Roads and such, were destroyed.

Mendicant in Halo 3 is actually talking to Chief, but this reference I meant for Infinite is meant to be deeper. After all, Zeta Halo is home to his core and was where he was corrupted. Maybe some sort of terminal CEA style that he made, briefly talking about his thoughts on the Forerunners before corruption, then what he remembers when he was. I know, a robot or AI can’t forget, but it’s likely that Mendicant would want to expunge that type of data. After all, he deeply regrets falling to the Flood.
