I’m sure I’ll buy H4 eventually for campaign, but if they don’t do somthing about it going black screen every two seconds and the stupid betrayal system. i wont be playing MM. I’ve all but given up Reach for these reasons. I might just wait for it to be like $30 before I buy it because thats all it will be worth to me if they don’t fix it. I know some people will say i just have bad internet but I say every other game I play works just fine so i’m thinking it’s the game. Please Halo Gods, I can accept call of Halo, after all they are getting rid of armor lock and at least there’s another Halo but please fix this or I will most likely be saying so long to Halo.
…and just to be clear when I say the stupid betrayal system I mean there should be no freindly fire. that means you cannot kill your temmate because he has the sniper, you cannot splatter or run over your teammates and say woops I’m sorry or accidently kill your temmate for whatever reason. It is just plain chaos with no order and is completely abused in the most vivid sence possible, so just get rid of it. Anyone who has played as many games of Halo as me should agree with me unless they betray in wich case they should be banned. Thanks.
I think for the betrayal system they should automatically make the option for booting come up anytime your betray, since you can now immediately see whether they betrayed on purpose or not via the death cam replay.
Black screens and betrayals were confirmed by Franky. Sorry friend.
Eliminating friendly fire would be disastrous. It would allow people to walk up to a group of battling players and just toss a grenade or rocket in there without having to worry about killing your teammates, and only killing the other team. That isn’t fair at all.
However, betrayal booting should be a lot more intelligent. In other words: don’t allow someone to boot me because they were dumb enough to walk into the path of my rocket or grenade. However, allow someone to boot a player if they walked up to me and killed me just to take those rockets/sniper. It wouldn’t be tough to program that: is there any opponent around? Did they unload an entire clip/full 5 BR shots on me? Did they walk up behind me and back-whack me? If so, allow me the chance to boot their dumb -Yoink-, or at least allow me the chance to auto-kill them, and make them wait for 30 seconds to return to the game. That way, they’d get the sniper, then immediately die, then have to wait 30 seconds to come back. If they do it again, THEN give me the chance to boot them, being that the initial punishment didn’t get the point across.
Friendly fire is a vital aspect of Halo and any skilled FPS shooter. If you fire a rocket it should hurt no matter who you’re firing at, it means that we as players have to actually think rather than just mindlessly spamming grenades and rockets without having to think.
There is nothing wrong with friendly fire but there is something seriously wrong with the current betrayal system. It’s completely unreliable resulting in griefers getting away with team-killing and players who genuinely betrayed by accident get booted in… oh about a nanosecond after it occurred. People boot without even thinking about it.
Perhaps the betrayal system should give the betrayed a 10second killcam of his/her death and then give the option to boot. This would allow a betrayed player to see if it was done on purpose or by accident and maybe that 10 seconds would be enough for them to cool off a bit, and avoid that instaboot trigger happy attitude.

With that logic I could say people who want friendly fire gone are incompetent and only want it gone so they can abuse power weapons without having to account for their teammates.
In a world where lag is even slightly possible, black screen will exist.
However, I pray, with JIP, that black screen will be much better fixed. I just don’t want to think about dealing with Reach’s constant black screen in Halo 4’s JIP…
JIP will likely = Tons of blackscreens
I am a pretty open minded person and having it so you could boot the person any time you get betrayed would be an improvement, but i think any argument for keeping FF is invalid. In my experience FF just makes for an unpleasent experience. I agree that it would be less realistic, but it is a game and it is meant for fun. COD doesn’t have FF. Maybe they should have it so once you die you never get to play Halo again. That would be more realistic. That wouldn’t make much sense now would it? I think you know what im trying to say. I’m also a tad curious on how you abuse power weapons? I go for kills wich help my team win. You call me incompatant? You bring nothing meaningful to the conversation and you just advertise your ignorance.

You’ve got rockets and there’s a room full of people, enemies and teammates. With FF off what do you think happens? People get to fire without any consequence for what their shooting at. Less thinking more shooting.
Oh and CoD and Battlefield both have hardcore modes. You know what’s in those? Friendly fire. You know why? Because it adds a level of skill for people to show restraint and situational awareness for their teammates.

Again, no. Being able to rocket or grenade a group of people and only having the opposing team die is stupid. Period.
There is no question that we need a betrayal system. But turning off friendly fire would have more issues then having it on.

Sorry, OP, but betrayals and blackscreens were confirmed. Guess you won’t be getting Halo 4 then! Have a nice life
Spam nades, spam rockets, spam everything. everybody does it already! You know how many times I’ve been betrayed? If I had a doller for every time i’ve been betrayed, I would own my own Paradise Island somewhere. it’s funny there are so many haters on here. What? You hate me cause I don’t like FF? I think you hate me cause I’m good. You just wish you could have half the sniper headshots that I have. Don’t Talk.
As long as video games utilize the technology they do, there will be the endless cycle of lag, black screens, and betrayals.
That is not going to change from one game to the next.
> I think for the betrayal system they should automatically make the option for booting come up anytime your betray, since you can now immediately see whether they betrayed on purpose or not via the death cam replay.
And then have inconsiderate d-bags boot you anyway?
Any time you are betrayed you should be given the option to boot, but everyone should be able to over turn one boot per match. This would prevent grief betrayals, as they would be gone the second time round, and anyone who betrayed accidentally would be extra careful thereon in.
> There is no question that we need a betrayal system. But turning off friendly fire would have more issues then having it on.
Oh, and to someone that is interested in having a conversation, I think some things would have to be molded and tweeked to make it work. Stickies would fall of teammates, vihicles would not send someone across the map, among other things. It wouldn’t be that hard. The game would be more fun.

Dude, it’s only Halo. Thats what im sayin. I play other games it doesn’t happen. It happens in COD less than a 3rd of the times it happens in Halo.

We have all been betrayed, but this kind of hostility does not belong here, and its your opinion if you think your good, its not something I would advertise and attack someone over.

Play more big team and you will eat your words.
