Even though it would be extremely hard to balance a mouse and keyboard vs a controller i hope the have options so you can change if you wanna vs some on pc or xbox. competitively they would have to make that xbox could only vs xbox and pc could only vs pc. Pc would destroy a controller opponent. I hope they game is not as dumb down as the first one i hope it has a bit more complex and has more strategy to it.
I think this is a game developer setting. Also if my memory serves me correctly anything Halo is usually only on Xbox. I think halo wars was only on the Xbox 360. Basically there is nothing to worry about =)

Halo Wars 2 is being developed for both the Xbox One and Windows 10. There will be a PC version of Halo Wars 2.
As of late, Microsoft has been pushing cross-platform play, especially so with the now-cancelled Fable Legends, so it wouldn’t surprise me if they are trying the same thing with Halo Wars 2. Many others are thinking the same thing. If this is the case, obviously control styles will be a major issue that needs to be worked around.
It probably won’t, unless they start a huge ad campaign about it, but then again they might because Microsoft was talking about it.
I highly doubt Microsoft will release Halo Wars 2 on PC it will most likely just be console or if they are wanting to screw the PC pooch some more they would follow what happened with Quantum Break Xbox and Windows 10 only I think that will screw our chances of a good game system even more

This is a fact. Not opinion.

I think the both of you need to be a bit more informed about HW2 because it has been confirmed to release on PC and Xbox with cross platform support.
At this moment it seems a bit unknown how controller vs keyboard will work. The controls could end up being simple enough to negate any comparative advantage one system might have over another, or maybe every copy of HW2 will come with a mouse and keyboard. It’s too early to tell.

And to further reinforce this, it’s mentioned on the Games page here and in the release trailers

However, Microsoft has had a very strong deal in the past by not allowing the same title on different systems to cross match with each other. Notably, when they created the “Minecraft Windows 10 Edition” they could have introduced it for both XBOX One and Windows 10 Platforms. Just because they are on both does not mean we will be able to play cross system. Personally, it would be stupid to have this then. Why would I want to play on my XBOX against someone on a PC, with something that has a higher output than anything the XBOX can produce when I could just have a fair fight on the XBOX?

Hi Blue!
I got a simple solution. Actually, it’s not a solution…
If someone sucks with a mouse and keyboard, they suck either way, doesn’t matter who they face. If they suck with a controller, it doesn’t matter who they face.
Competitions like HCS and CS:GO tournaments show us that there are indeed skilled players on both sides, but they are still skilled. Doesn’t matter what they play, they are good with what they are playing.
This has always confused me on why people seem to think mouse and keyboard gives super unfair advantage. If the person is good, they’re good. Doesn’t matter what they play.
So yeah, go crossplatform. I would love to play with others across platforms and end this stupid platform war.

It was rhetorical, but GG anyway. However, equipment issues like lag on a XBOX might not be thing on a PC. If you tested two players with same skill level, XBOX vs PC, both have a go on both then PPC will top due to what it could outputt. Hypothetically, of course.

That depends really, because Xbox has a set hardware, whereas PC could vary. Yes, some people could have beast PCs, and then other PCs from 2003.
I think Halo Wars is being made Xbox first, PC next, meaning it will be tuned for Xbox Players, and allow PC Players to play it, so there won’t be any framerate drops or graphical glitches. Kinds the only counter to this problem.

Writing on tablet
Dodger, maybe I’m misunderstanding you point, but a mouse and keyboard for an RTS (and shooters) most certainly allows for a higher skill ceiling than a gamepad does.
Obviously, if you suck, you will suck either way, but a mouse and keyboard allows for more speed and precision in input in addition to hotkeying (if enabled on PC).
For proof, look no further than high-level SC 2 streams and imagine trying to act and react as efficiently, precisely, and speedily as those players do with only a gamepad instead of mouse and keyboard. You simply cannot do it.

Dude just freaking accept the fact that you’re wrong. It has been confirmed by everyone here and a monitor with links. It will have cross-play with XOne and PC

Those links confirm that it will be featured on both the systems. However, as stated above there is a strong tradition with not having XOne games and PC games cross with each other, notably the Mincraft Xbox and 10 versions. Until you prove to me, with evidence, that they are cross with each platform then you have no right to call me “wrong.”
