Halo 5 feels dead, my guess is because we didn’t have enough substantial replayable content until WZFF dropped, then it petered out with OP enemies, unfair spawning, stupid respawn timer, ect…in other words the spaced out Free Content Drops are what I blame, now before you crucify me, hear me out. Halo’s 3, ODST, Reach, and 4 all had payed DLC, but also had plenty of additional content thrown in for free, all of these games were perceived FAR better at launch than Halo 5 did, and over time people continued to rave about 3 and Reach being superior due to them being well built, having all main content at launch, and having paid DLC. DLC is something optional, Halo 5 has 0 DLC but has what 8, maybe 9 Free Content Drops that you are FORCED to download, the point being 343 kinda used this idea of “Free DLC” more to finish the unfinished game that was released rather than use it to add NEW content to the game instead of remixes and classic stuff.
Halo 6 is most likely to have everything halo 5 took ages to get but at launch most likely.
(I edited the original post once I realised what you write on your post.)
with 3 sub par games in a row (4 if you count mcc) i doubt halo will ever feel as popular as it was during the original trilogy days

Well I mean I LOVE Reach and MCC, but 4 and 5 are just kinda “meh” compared to previous titles.
Doubtful. If anything the halo 6 community will probably be smaller than halo 5’s.
If Halo 6 is another 4 and or 5, well R.I.P Halo…
I guess a new Sony-343 contract will be created in order to keep Halo alive with a whole new audience.
This will also be a last desperate attempt for 343 to keep themselves alive too…
…Wait a minute… There was still a Halo community after Halo 4? Please… The population drop, now dead MCC and this abomination of Halo 5 shows me how much of a community is even left. Its so small you cant even call it a community!

Halo Reach was anything but subpar when compared to other Halo games.
If everything that should be at launch is actually there at launch it might live longer. For a lot of people I’m sure the things they’ve added post launch was just too late.
Dude, the community has been in a constant state of “this game did this better than the newer game” since the days of Halo 2. I doubt Halo 6 could change a decade of backlash and toxicity.
Take off the rose-colored glasses and look very carefully at Halo 3 or Reach or Halo 4. “Complete” at launch in none of those games included Warzone. Forge in any of those titles is a pale shadow of what we have now. Game play is a personal thing so I won’t make any arguments about which one had the good, better, best - there just isn’t any point. Yes, I get the point about the free updates being used to complete the game, but what are you even trying to say about them being “forced?”
The following is only my personal opinion, but I’ll take Halo 5 “complete” after nine months to any previous Halo title “complete” at launch (which none were, for the record).
With that out of the way, how do you define a “livelier” community? Because if you’re waiting around for the 13 million player base of Halo 3 then you wait in vain. 343 could drop the perfect Halo tomorrow and it couldn’t sell that many copies if God himself gave it a “10 out of 10.” Just not possible. Times have changed, the gaming environment has changed, Playstation has changed, mobile gaming exists, competition, etc. So what is it that you want out of your community that you’re not getting?
