Hope 343I just doesn't kill off everyone from five because fan's didn't like them

It would be a dumb -yoink- way of doing things. I mean killing most of Lockle team but buck would be fine, can’t even think of Lockle team name. I mean miss Chief is short might die and most won’t care, she was meant to be the 343 Johnson. I mean who we call brohammer would be better. It would be sad if they kill blue team just cause most didn’t like them or know about them and thought 343I made them up. I mean most would be sad if Lasky died. Idk if del rio is still there would be cool if he died ordering them to keep fighting and they leave him to get captured. If buck got out and met back up with his team and then come back with the sprit of fire from the ark. I hope that the cool elite from the trailer Jeda doesn’t die, and we beat him and take the sword and he gets away.

Also to everyone who don’t know who blue team is from there from the books so get the halo books or just watch some halofollower videos on them.

They should write them out of the story in a comic or something. If Locke or the other nobodies in Osiris turned up in Infinite - the majority of players would just groan.

More than likely they’ll just be moved to other media. I hope Blue Team return in some form because I liked seeing them all together. In fact, one of the things I really want to happen is Blue Team and Red Team fighting side-by-side. Seven Spartan-II’s fighting together would be awesome.

I think the core problem with those characters is that they are given no character in the games themselves. We are given no introduction to who they are or why we should care about them. We are told they have special and unique talents, but never see them used in-game. And they all have the same -Yoink!- AI so it doesn’t come through in gameplay.

People like Buck because he had an entire game for us to see and familiarise ourselves with his character and let people get to know him. Plus in that game he was charismatic and fun. Halo 5 has you guide four planks of wood from set piece to set piece while they drone exposition at you.

And it’s a shame because they have potential. Infinite could turn things around. Have them show up in side missions. Have them help out Chief. Do something useful. Maybe we would actually need whatever their special skills are supposed to be. And give them something fun to do or say. Let us get to know them as individuals and understand why we are supposed to like them and be invested in their journey.

If they insist on keeping these non-Buck side-characters moving forward, they had better do something with them. Otherwise writing them out of the story might be better for everyone.

I didn’t even think Locke was bad, he was just kind of boring. I wouldn’t mind if he had a role in Infinite’s story, and they gave him another shot towards actually being an interesting character. The ONI background is about as far as character development went with him.

100% not on board with the folk who just want to kill him off after Halo 5’s story. That just seems like a waste.

It not that I hate them, but Osiris team like stated before hand we didn’t know them only Buck. If they all but Buck die I will be natural cause I have no attachment to them. Palmer being killed again the same thing. Lasky yes I will be angry and will be taking that anger out in the campaign making sure they all die and I will chase any enemy that tries to flee. If Blue team is dead, I am pretty sure I will rage quit. And it will take a while for me to get in the mood to play again.

wow, trolling elite here.

you dont think that we like halo 5 teams?

what about Palmer?: i had no clue she was a saddist. I like her.

What i hope we see more of, is the size comparison between Osiris and Blue XD

Chief is like a grizzley bear
and the Frost GIANTS

next to the cavalry. it will be weird to find out how the PSARTAN IIs
not will, adapt to fight against the next gen which they would likely be masterfully trained in as their primary skillset, as was their purpose
but work with them: -

-live munition.

~

I want to see the Golden Legion of spartan IVs on the front… XD

Huh what are you saying I don’t understand

Don’t worry, I don’t understand half of it either after the frost giants part :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

It’s not just that they don’t have character, it’s that they don’t do anything important. Take Johnson. Fan favorite character. Funny, charismatic. We don’t know anything about his past, all we know is that he seems to be a good friend of Chief and Keyes (both). Heck some people even find comic relief characters annoying. But guess what, Johnson does one thing that’s very important. He facilitates the alliance between the Humans and Elites. Something I doubt, Chief or Miranda could have done. (Chief sort of tried, but he probably would’ve just killed Arby and Miranda just doesn’t strike me as the negotiating type.)

People like Noble Team because you send alone time with them. Almost every member has a solo mission with Six where their skills/personalities shine. Halo 5 campaign structure actually could have done this.

  • 1st Osiris mission is a solo assassination mission where Locke sneaks behind enemy line and assassinate Jul (or extract Halsey. Jul shouldn’t have been killed, at least not in mission 1).

  • Meridian Missions: Locke Takes Tanaka with him to help navigate the anti-UNSC outer world.

  • Sanghelios: Locke and Vale go to help the Arbiter. Vale spends a lot of the missions translating and peacetalking with the Elites. Maybe she even solves some of those riddles since she knows so much about their culture. Maybe even Arbiter takes a personal liking to Vale because of this skill.

*Buck: I’m not really sure what mission Buck would accompany Lock on. His skill is that he’s the voice of reason, but because of how Battle of Suniaon ends, he and Locke would have to be the only ones to get inside the slipspace portal.

Yeah I highly agree. This happened in 5 and… needs to stop happening.

I just hope nobody from 4 or 5 returns. Poorly written characters and no one of great importance to the story or Chief.

Locke’s team name is Fire Team Osiris. I don’t care for any of the team members in FT: Osiris except of course for Buck. Knowing Buck’s character development through H3: ODST and (very) loosely following his backstory as far as lore goes… He is the only character that has any value to me. The rest of the team can get fired from a MAC cannon for all I care…

Same here. I played ODST when it came out but I haven’t touched 5, and knowing the story/campaign problems I never will.

They’ll probably leave it ambiguous. So the door would be open to bring back a character if they wanted to. Also, we are assuming all the characters were on the Infinity when they can and are often deployed away from it. How often were you on the Infinity in Halo 5?

For example, they want to surprise Cortana so they sent Blue Team and Osiris to Earth as a distraction; hoping she would think Chief was with them.

Also the Ringworld is massive. For all we know, Palmer and Halsey are hiding in a bunker somewhere.

Deaths could be covered by audiologs although cinematic would be nice.

Laskey is either going down with the ship or they want to Keys him at some point. I really don’t see him surviving here.

I think if a death genuinely serves the story then it makes sense. The cast was getting pretty big and it has been six years.

If the characters don’t serve the story then they can simply step to one side for a game. Address it in a comic or book.

Osiris aren’t bad characters by any stretch. They all have their own quirks and there is banter between the squad. The issue is it’s a short game, you’re constantly asking why you’re not playing as Chief when it’s about talking Cortana down and the marketing campaign misdirect left a sour taste for a lot of people. I mean I’d be perfectly happy if Vale showed up for example.

Amen. No need to kill of these characters if they can be better served in a different medium. Or, better yet, they could be given better writing and improved. Not every character starts fully developed, sometimes it takes time.

Like, imagine in a post-Infinite campaign we have Chief and Locke going on assassination missions against any major Banished holdouts. Or Fireteam Majestic giving Chief support with him giving them some guidance as a mentor. Too often there is a “just throw away” attitude by fans when there are way better options.

I’ll be honest, Halo 5 is not a bad game. (on it’s own…)
however if you compare it to literally any other halo titles, it is in fact imo the least popular game of the entire franchise.

I’m a huge critic of Halo 4 & 5, and I would prefer it if the characters were just put on the sidelines, instead of being killed off. Maybe with a supportive role in the background.

I honestly wish 343 would have just retconned Halo 4 & 5 entirely and started fresh.
