Hoofs

I just want to take a moment and thank 343 Industries for bringing back the hoofs to the Elites. I’m not sure why Bungie thought it wise to bestow upon them the chunkiest of feet (maybe to make their anatomy seem more “human-like” to make them feel more like allies to us or something) but I’m ever grateful that 343I has decided to restore the natural order of things.

Thank you 343 Industries.

p.s. I know that this is ancient, but I thought about the second I saw the first pic of a Halo 4 Elite and for some reason I hadn’t gotten to thank 343I for it before now.

Elites don’t have toes?

I didnt really realize they were missing. in halo reach the elite looked threat full but in halo 4 they look like bad -Yoink- Minotaurs

> Elites don’t have toes?

Not originally and not anymore, no.

They did have toes in Halo 3, but all in all that was a dark time for the visual design of Elites altogether. They also had them in Halo: Reach, but that particular mistake paled in comparison to all the other damage they did to the franchise before leaving it.

What Bungie did in H:R could be compared to a disgruntled ex-employee taking a dump on their previous boss’ desk…

Yeah, it’s a very minor detail that most people wouldn’t have noticed. I was very fond of Elites at the time of Halo 3’s release so I noticed everything from the amount of teeth on their mandibles to the colours of their irises. Elites in Halo 3 looked like big, hunchbacked Gretchin, so the feet weren’t really a major issue back then either. It’s nice to see that it’s been fixed, though.

I don’t see any training wheels…

Let me stop you there.
The Elites looked great in Reach. The only thing wrong was their movement. They were less nimble samurai…and more like juggernauts doing cartwheels.

I think you are taking it a bit too far

Yeah, I’m glad they’re back ^^

You misread me. If you read more closely you can see that I’m actually saying that the design weren’t a big deal, as H:R was so full of much bigger, and much more important problems than that.

Maybe they went back to their first design? Or maybe they’ve never had “Hoofs” to begin with, and people only thought of them as “hoofs” because Bungie lacked the knowledge to give toes that worked like they did in Reach.

I agree, those elites have happy feet!

Wow, really? You talk so much crap about a game just because you don’t like it? I’m really getting sick of people treating Halo: Reach like it’s the worst game ever made and they always have to mention it in every post, it’s ridiculous…
